I wouldn't buy anything from this guy. The parts I bought from him were substandard and when I asked for a refund he said he would but not until I returned the items. How stupid would I be to send him back the items without getting paid first. He would have my money and the items.

this was left on toms thread and this new thread started. Honestly, if I sent you pics and you agreed to purchase. that's a done deal.
you should just delete this before he changes his mind. lol
nobody will sell you another part again should you continue to do business this way.

Personally, I think you should send them back first for your refund. I don't see any indication that Ziggy has been a problem seller in the past. You saw pics and still wanted them, I think it's gracious of him to offer the refund.

I have been dealing with Tom (Ziggy) for over two years and he is a top notch, fair, and upstanding guy. I have purchased everything from an engine & transmission, to a tiny spring for the door latch on my 67 Convertible and he has been fair in every dealing including making up payment for a bumper that turned out to be unusable because of rust through from the back when cleaned up.

You sir have a communication and relationship problem and need to work on it .

I just want to say that I have had multiple positive dealings with both Ziggy (Tom) AND Newguy (Scott). I don't know what their particular dealings might involve together, but I sincerely hope they can work it out.

I personally do not recall any problems being brought directly to the attention of V8 admin/mods. That's unfortunate but I do recall numerous times that members would choose to keep a bad experience to themselves, in general. That's what I never understood, NOT reporting issues to a mod or admin, when appropriate.

I still have the button and you are welcome to it. Get me an address and I will send it. What color was it by the way as I have several of them. The reason I didn't get them to you sooner and why I don't go by 67 Grand sport anymore is that at the time my mother passed away and that was where I got on line at the time. By the time I found out that I could use the Library for getting on line, It was about 2 years later and I couldn't remember my V8uick name and password so I started another one. And Yes Steve, post everything!! If you think I will be embarrassed, you are wrong. Ziggy, keep the money, you need it more than I do and this site and I will keep the crappy parts you said you would buy back. I will look here for the next week to see if Steve gets me his address and then I am done here. I wont visit this site anymore.

    Hey Scott Scheffen,
I was well aware of your mother's passing at that time, and there WERE some problems with the board at that time, but you NEVER attempted to contact me as far as I can tell. As you can see, ANYONE can pull up ANYBODY else. Personally, I would send the parts back, and get my money back. That way You'd have you'd have your FULL AMOUNT back (as Ziggy has stated), and Ziggy would have his parts back, to sell do somebody else, if he wanted. I have sent parts to other members on here at the EXACT amount it cost me; I've even sent parts (NON BUICK) that I no longer had use for for the cost of shipping alone.

    All,

I have observed this thread with interest since it started and I feel the time has come to respond. I have been publicly called out by Scott and will address him later in this post but first, I would like to make a couple comments to the other readers and participants of this thread.

I am moved by the support offered both here and privately. It's not that I did any great thing to earn it, or even that I had any uncertainty regarding the outcome of this situation. What moved me is that there are a bunch of folks on this board that think like I do. That is to say that honor is not dead, and a mans word still hold water. I have had discussions and dealings with many guys here and have met a few of you in person,I'm happy to say it is my honor to be part of this Buick brotherhood. Thank you.

    Scott,

Please take a deep breath before reading on, but also, please hang in there and read to the end.

Our deal and resulting disagreement is actually very simple and is resolvable, even now.

I will confess that I felt a little uncomfortable during the negotiation part of our deal. I can't exactly explain why, other than to say that you came off as something other than cheery and friendly. Maybe you wanted to strong arm your price offer, maybe that's the way you always are, I have no Idea, I just think you deserve to know that you put me on edge by the way you handled yourself.

You made a low offer based on your statement " they re pretty rough" There is no way you can claim that I misrepresented the condition of the emblems when you assigned your own condition description and then chose to buy the emblems at the agreed upon price.

To suggest that you should be refunded your money before returning the parts is foolish and a poor reflection on you. I dare you to go to your local Walmart and buy a car part, lets say a battery, take it home to drop it off and then attempt to get your money back without the battery in hand. I think we all can predict the outcome of that effort.

I never have and never will stick anybody with something they don't want. I may or may not have a right to, it's just my personal choice to do business that way.

I did and I still do think that the shipping costs BOTH ways should be your responsibility. It's not fair to "kick the tires" on my nickel. When I proposed this in our private discussion, you balked at the concept, so I capitulated and said I would give you a full refund. The $7 shipping wasn't worth a dispute to me.

When you threatened to try this case with the moderators, you said you were going to include all my emails. I have not seen the entire string anywhere, but at that time I sent you a reply with a couple points to ponder. I have copied that reply to you below.

    Scott,
Please be advised that a refund will not be issued until the emblems are returned and inspected.

The way I see it you have three choices:

    1. Keep the emblems

    2. Return the emblems and receive a full refund (if they are as I sent them to you)

    3. Plead your case with the site moderators.

I have no issue with you contacting the moderators, but I would like to offer a couple comments.

First, they do not get involved in matters such as this.

Second, I am not refusing to accept your return for refund.

Last, there is no business in the country that issues refunds without the returned merchandise being returned first.

Please review what your goals and intentions are before proceeding, the choice you make will have a direct effect on how
    this transaction proceeds.

There is no need for further discussion on this point. I think we understand each other's position, and while we somewhat disagree on the refund arrangements, you still have return options. Please do not blow up my email, and I'll offer you the same courtesy. Just let me know whether or not to look for your return shipment.

BTW, in the event you do contact the board moderators, please include this email along with both sides of our discussion so they can be up to date on the latest info.

    Regards,

    Tom

I was hoping you would reconsider you goals and the potential outcome of your actions before proceeding. I wonder if this is what you hoped for or expected?

Now, to bring this up to the current moment, it comes out that you have taken peoples money and not delivered what you promised, for whatever reason. I am sorry for the loss of your family member. I have suffered deep losses of my own. What separates you from me is that I didn't use my loss to excuse my lack of integrity. You can't possibly expect anyone to accept that you were unable to reach out to make these matters right sometime in the past four years. Perhaps these past dealings of yours is why you don't trust me to return your money. Dunno...

Now, if you have made it this far, keep reading.

I would like to see you reconsider this whole deal,

I want to encourage you to take the admonishing above to heart. Go ahead, be mad, stew and chew on it for a while and get past the anger. When you are done with that, look at the facts and then own it, and change your ways!!! Go out of your way to clear you name with these guys.

There are not very many of us Buick nuts out there. It's a dang shame that you are considering walking out on this group. There simply is no better place to share our Buick muscle car passion than here. Yup, some of us are a little salty, and we differ on many things, but we choose to let our passion for V8 Buicks get us past our differences. I would suggest that if you enjoy a little crow, so to speak, try to make things right with everyone here and adopt a new way of handling yourself that this group will give you another chance. I will be the first to put my hand out...

My offer still stands regarding the emblems.

    Tom

The worry of the seller having the part and money is stupid. Doesn't that happen in nearly every transaction? There has to be trust on the buyer's end right up front. Hope this gets settled and a beer and a laugh come in down the road.

I found out the hard way about returning parts that were not correct for the vehicle I purchased them for. I won't name names, as the seller is a v8 member, but neither of us were at the time of transaction. But in short, I returned about $400 worth and seller ended up with the parts and the money.
