Not sure if this one's been posted yet. Always loved this song, inspired by Pagliacci the clown. And here's the story of how it came to be.
Never liked the Hooters cuz they were local music to me, and local music was not as good as famous groups to my adolescent mind. That being said, here's one of their early singles that was quite good: Of course, some of the guys were supporting Cindy Lauper's efforts when she broke through. Some other Philly groups from the period: But I don't remember that song. I do remember this: There were a few other songs I remember but I can't remember the names of the groups.
She was born in Morden, MB and went to University of Manitoba to become a veterinarian. That's where she discovered folk music. I think she made a wise choice to pursue that instead. Oddly enough, I only discovered her a few years ago. Here's my favorite Loreena McKennitt song.
