    Untie Me --The Tams (1962)


    In the 50s and 60s I saw these guys perform many times. The lead singer, Joe Pope, had such an unmistakable voice. Joe passed away a long time ago but his voice lives on in 45s.

    The Animals were (still are) one of the favorite groups of my cohorts and I as teens.
    Really like this group as well. Little newer than Animals though. I tell my wife this was written about her.

    Here's an interesting one that I learned about last week. I knew this song but saw conflicting info – I thought the song was from '68, possibly a 45, but it appeared on the American Woman LP, which is from two years later.

    Well, it seems the song was rerecorded for the album. Here's the LP cut:



    And there's the original, which isn't as slow:
