Don't know him but that is the same color as mine(73) and my color was originally from Fayetteville North Carolina. Must be a Carolina thing!!!

    jbc455 Between cars...

Aren't there supposed to be GS emblems on the door panels?

My favorite line: "I WILL LET THE MARKET DICTATE THE FINAL PRICE". No he won't. There's a reserve on it. :puzzled:

Another eBay peeve- How about backing up 10 feet to take pictures of the whole car?

I tried to talk the man into joining the carolina chapter but I dont think he is into being in clubs. He just likes Buicks and has some real nice ones also.. I emailed him on a car near me that I looked at to let him know the good and bad about the car and his responce was a little strange he said he was not interested in the car he was just Bidding it up to help the price of his when he sells his in a few weeks. I think the man likes old cars but not people he seems like he does not want to talk to anyone (just my thought) I would like to meet him just to see his collection of old cars bet he has some nice ones....

This is a quote from his ad -

THIS COUPE IS ONE OF A KIND BECAUSE THIS CAR HAS A VERY SPECIAL PAINT CODE NOT FOUND ON ANY OTHER KNOWN GS ....THE COWL TAG CONFIRMS THE CORRECT PAINT CODE WHICH IS 73 VINTAGE RED IRID......I HAVE TALKED WITH MANY GS ENTHUIASTS AND THE SLOAN MUSEUM..AND THEY CONFIRMED MY CLAIM..THIS GS IS TRUELY UNIQUE.IT LOOKS VERY COOL WITH THAT PAINT SCHEME

I sent him a reply in ebay -
Just as an FYI, I also have a 72 GS, its a Stage 1 that was sold in Fayetteville and it also has the 73 paint code of Vintage red. As for where you got the documention stating such, I think they need to do their homework as I know of another that is this color. Thanks

I am waiting on a reply from him, will let you know how I make out

Well he responded and requested some pics of my car. So I sent them to him. It kinda makes me wonder about Sloan. They tell me one thing and tell him something else.
Will have to see how this pans out.

19 coupes were built in that color in 72, and 4 convertibles. Not sure the breakdown between GS 350, GS 455 and Stage 1. His was built in Fram., so it is 1 of 3 coupes in that color built there. I guess it is very possible his is 1 of 1 GS 350's built in Fram. in that color.

Yep I know. I told him that his was one of 19 and that either his source of info is wrong(meaning his GS "enthusiates" or his contact at Sloan made an error.

Heck it won't be the first time that a GS guru made a mistake, I found that out a long long time ago!!!

Yep his could be 1 of 1 built in Framingham

Very nice guy to talk to, he also updated his info on the auction. Hope he does well, brings up the value of all the GS's

    I don't understand

An honest seller, just not a honest buyer. For the last 2-3 years I've been watching him and one other e-bay member that go out of there way to find out the reserve, then bid it up close but have absolutely no intention to buy. The Idea that some people have a problem with the prices of buicks being to low bugs me, wait until the prices are so high only rich people can afford them. Its funny how for some people its all about money and others just enjoy the fact they can still own a piece of history without re mortgaging there house. I've watched board members here get false idea's that there cars are worth more then they really are due to this phoney bidding, and to boot I've never seen any of these cars move on e-bay. I brag about owning a buick not how much its worth, it would be nice If my son could afford a buick when he gets older so we can go for a cruise together. Its funny how this guy is misleading people and trying to drive prices up to pad his bank account and some of you guys seem ok with this. Sad day in the HOBBY world. This mentality belongs in the stock market not in are hobby. 24 years of being a buick guy I don't like where this is going.I hope you guys don't misunderstand where I coming from, I just like buicks and what they represent for alot of people. Chris

    grannys70skylrk MORE IDEAS THAN MONEY

I'm pretty sure there's a convertible this color in the Daytona Beach/Port Orange/New Smyrna Beach area, I've seen it at the monthly Canal St. cruise the past few months.

Ditto on what you said, but I still would like to see them bring what they are worth. Compared to the Chevies and Mopars I think we are underated in the price factor. As for inflating the prices, well that is down right wrong in my book. I think its more ego than common sense sometimes!!
