My 68 Wildcat has the all too familiar rusty trunk and rear frame rail issues. I have searched and not found a definitive answer to the question of what will interchange and what won't. Will an Impala trunk floor fit with modification? If so, how much modifying do I need to do?

Fabricating the rear frame rails, I'm comfortable with, but not the whole trunk floor. To those of you who have repaired these rusty trunks, what were your solutions? If you have pics I'd like to see some to get some idea of where to go with the repair. Thanks in advance...

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Good idea to at least add your city and state to your header info. Also, a name on your signature line would help.

Best bet.....visit the local yards and see if you can find any salvage cars that are full size so you can compare trunk pans.

I would think full size models like Olds 88/98, Pontiac Catalina/Bonneville, Chevy Impala/Caprice.....would be the same.

You can also visit some body panel suppliers in your area and see what is available.

If I were to find a 68 anything in the yards around here, I would fall over, lol. Most of our yards are parts and repairable yards, unfortunately. In my case, the cat doesn't have to be pristine, because thats just not me. I just enjoy driving the land yacht, and don't want to leave my trunk's contents on the side of the road.

The center section of my trunk is ok, so if I can get the outer sections close enough to fit I'd be in business. After looking at some of the rust pics in another thread, I feel pretty lucky at this point to just have a couple of big holes to patch...
