this is a new one on me. all ebayers probably should take the time to read both threads. maybe somebody can provide a link. if you go to the ebay soapbox, there is a thread titled " heads up... new hijacking scam "

it also has a link to another thread on another ebay forum. i recommend reading both. that is, unless it asks you to sign in. ( i guess that will be the next place they do the scam. )

it appears that the scammers are getting better. :blast: :Do No:

    thank you Rob !!!

i cant stress this enough people.

read the ebay forums regularly !

from the ebay home page ( or sometimes my ebay ) click on community, then discussion boards, then one of the many forums there. esp. ebay motors, misc, feedback, trust and safety ( safe harbor ) auction listings, international trading, and so many others. theres lots of good info there.

if the forum page shows maybe 16 replies, but you only find one reply when you click on the thread, scroll down and then click " previous " on the lower left, so that you will see all replies in that thread. ( there may be several pages ) nearly everything on ebay is clickable, keep clicking until you find the info you're looking for.

many ebayers dont know these forums exist. you can log in there, and ask and reply to questions. you will be talking to other ebay members, unless ebay staff responds. their posts will have a pink background, so they are refered to as pinks.

I wish ebay would crack down on this sort of thing. More and more ebay is becoming a joke to the people that use it the most. Scams, fake listings, garbage listings why would anybody actually want to use it anymore?

    competition

Hopefully, ebay will have some competition if google decides to start up an online auction. I'll give it a shot. Ebay is too expensive for what you get. And besides, I've never sold anything of value on ebay. Except for my 67 GS400, 100% of the vehicles I put on ebay were sold later to someone who didn't want to get scammed.

Thanks for the heads up Henry!

I used to check out the ebay forums, but got sick of the childish flaming that goes on there.
I was surprised how civil that thread was!

yeah, i know about the flaming. a few minutes ago i was looking at one on ebay motors titled " why didnt somebody tell me ". a thought provoking thread, but i doubt it will be there long, it isnt fit to even be linked to this board ! i suspect it will be deleted soon.

All this and Ebay is jacking ther rates by 66% for sellers and conteplating rquireing BUYERS to pay a fee as well...somehow the billions of auctions they have collected fee's on isnt enough.... the problem IS no competition, and with a single source the hackers dont really have to try as hard to counterfit web pages.
