I ordered a LUG Stud and some Lug Nuts for my GS from YO and got the stud the other day, no lug nuts? So I called them up and asked when the nuts would be coming and they let me know that part of my order was canceled. Ok no problem, then as I'm looking at my order confirm while I'm talking to the guy I notice that I paid $8 shipping and $2 package protection, so I asked if that was still the S&H total, his reply "Yep" Now it's only few extra bucks $13.50 total for the stud but I'm still PO'd about it. That's just not right!! :af:

I told him they could at least kiss me next time! :spank:

I've spent 2K there in the last 6 months.

Year one just contacted me and gave me a $25 credit on my account to offset the expense. :TU:

I'd say "Unbelievable", but then you're talking about Year One. :spank:

    Entirely believable...

    I won't deal with them.

Alot of those types of parts, like studs are readily available at Napa or CarQuest so a person doesn't have to pay their unrealistic shipping/handling fees.

I was going to order some stuff from Y/One a few days ago........they're expensive! I ordered what I needed from Ames Performance (Pontiac) same stuff, better price, phone reps are friendlier. AND AMES CATALOGS ARE FREE! :Brow:

That's the whole reason I was upset..I ordered something I couldn't get around here and just added the one stud because I was already paying the shipping on the nuts. I didn't really like the nuts either but figured they would look better than what I had. Lesson learned. :ball:

Allot / most online store use shipping charges for part of their income to counter lower prices. But some do it just because they can. 1 or even 1000 lost customers doesn't matter to them. It happens. Business start off with good well intentions, then starts making so much money that they lose focus and the lost income is moot. Lots of computer companies like that.

Lots of racing is like that. Plenty of good guy who just wanna race but once the sponsors come and the money piles up.
They blend right into the same old crowd. As the original people who had the vision that got them there. Have stock holders and big money sponsors running the show.

    Can't win for lose.

Speaking of that, I need a thread chaser for the fine thread 1/2 inch threads that are wheel studs. Anybody know where to buy one?
(Maybe I should put some Marvel Mystery Oil on it! :TU: )

That should be 1/2"-20.........most hardware stores carry dies and that's a standard thread. If you have trouble finding one then try a machinist supply. Wouldn't it just be easier going to NAPA and getting new studs? Prolly the better thing to do anyway. :bglasses:

I don't know what it is about these aftermarket companies, but it seems like they just don't give a damn anymore. They sell you the part and it's yours if you don't like it then here comes the restocking fee's. I use to sell retail but my last 3 orders never came and the customers were pissed at me. The operators are clueless when it comes to customer satisfaction. I got out of the retail buisness just this past December and now the customers are complaining that they are getting screwed by my former competition. I only see it getting worst. The prices will skyrocket and most people will go to the company that is fast but expensive and they'll say "well atleast i got it". Food for thought.

I've been in this hobby with one or another Buick GS since 1985. Back in the '80s Y/O was great. I could get what I needed; shipping from right coast to left coast took 3 days max; they'd never question a return; part quality was awesome. Now, I think business with them is at best risky.

Year one just contacted me and gave me a $25 credit on my account to offset the expense. That is pretty good customer service in my book. I will continue to order from them. :TU:

I wonder if they saw this conversation...

I'm not sure, they may have and the fact that others responded by telling some of their bad experiences with them may have helped. I did tell them I would inform others and reminded them that there were other places to buy parts. But I can't knock them for doing the right thing by me. They also apologized for the way the guy treated me on the phone.

I spent 14 years as the head of customer service and dispute resolution for a large brokerage firm, lord knows we had upset clients from time to time. But I did my best to keep them happy and if I had to throw a couple of dollars at them no big deal.

They turned this one around...I hope they show the same care for all of their customers. Competition breeds good customer service.

James, I just noticed your location. My wifes family is from Sweetwater, is it still cold there? We were there for Christmas and they got snow. That's pretty rare isn't it?

Glad to hear that YO took care of you, I know what you mean about good customer service turning around bad experiences. :TU:

Ahh...Sweetwater! My previous job took me there once a week, it's a nice town with a great little lake :Brow: (if it'd ever get some water back in it! ) Yesterday it was a beautiful 80 degrees, clear skies, just PERFECT for going to the wrecking yard with my 4-year-old son Bruce - Ahhhh! :bglasses: But it's supposed to get back down into the 30-50 range this week, possible rain (yeah, right!). Yuck.

Yup, actual snow is kinda rare around here, although freezing rain is a winter tradition. But heck, after the last 6 years, ANY rain is welcome!

    Cheers, :beer
