    Hello guys,

I have a choice to do concerning the engine i'm gonna place into my Skylark...
    I have 2 of them:
    1- the stock 350, 4 barrels from 72.
2- another 350 i bought from a friend with these specs:

    -bored 0.30,
-TA Performance high volume oil pump and regulator, ( i don't think it's a good choice, will be replaced by a stock one)
-stock rod, 10.25, forged piston, mild ported heads,
    -stock crank
    -stock valves,
    -Crower cam: 50258 276 hdp 112 level3 468" 281 276 446" 220 210,
-TA intake, BG 750 DP carb,
    -TA headers ceramic coated,
    - 2,5" Flowmaster exhaust with Super 40 mufflers,
    - MSD billet distributor with 6AL modul and MSD coil,
-TA (Ron Davis) radiator with dual 16" fans,
    -Moroso air filter.

i also have bought a set of roller rockers from Poston...

In fact i would love to fit a supercharger from XS Performance...
But i don't know which engine to choose?
Should i rebuild my stock one with new bearings, better rods, better piston, ( bigger exhaust valve ) and another cam (which?).
Or can i use the other block? with, i presume, some mods...

Except the psi, what can be used to raise the power?

My buick will be a street car, the gearbox is a TH-350 and the rear axle is a 10 bolt, so it will handle power if i don't launch like hell at the light with sticky slicks.:3gears: ( i don't care too much of drag racing times).

Thanks for any help and advise...
    David

    David,

I would go with a stock rebuild since you mentioned going with a supercharger. You would want to get more towards 8:1 compression. Plus, with knowing you rebuilt the engine, or had someone build the engine you trust will give reassurance you won't have to pull it back out. With your new rebuild, get lightweight pistons and capscrew rods.

    mmm.

Boost the stocker while you save up for Forged rods and low comp forged pistons for the mod engine.
