This is my X-factor carb intake made by Mark Burton of Burton Machine. I had this for a while in the basement...planns changed and I now wanted EFI.

    Conversion was done through rpm
has 8an fittings as we didnt think there would be enough meat in the fualrailsto machine for a 10AN

I purchased the Holley efi system...their retro-fit kit to be exact.
I obviously couldn't use the supplied injector bungs with the kit as theyre were aluminum..so I ordered a set of steel injector bungs from Ross racing
ordered 48?lbs injectors i think it was? but supports 750hp.

I have a fuelab prodigy pump with electronic FPR
not sure if i'm going all Conducted Teflon lined fual lines...ir run as much AL lines and use flexible as needed...

I'll save the AL injector bungs and see if I can replicate something similar to what a fellow board member made for his lil 300.

butr I STRESS..anyone that uses flexible lines..
if your using gas with Ethenol...E10 or E85 you need teflon lined and not rubber liner...also make sure the flexable fuel line is conductive
TechAFX is the only brand/company i knowof that sells conductive lines that are tedlon liner.

    Looks good Mike.

I would suggest going with mostly hard line and only flex as needed. Aluminum line is dirt cheap; I bought a 25ft roll of 5/8" for $29.00 from Summit.

What was the inside diameter of your fuel rail? They make straight-cut to AN adapter fittings with differing diameters on either side. I'm going with -10 AN fittings, and -8 straight cut which is 3/4" thread, requires a 11/16" hole for tapping.

The way I see it, more fuel capability the better.

If you go about doing something similar as I on the intake, I suggest you go with thicker intake flanges and machine the bolt bosses directly into the flange. Welding around those bosses, even with a small TIG torch gets tricky, I have no idea how it would be accomplished with a spool gun.

    Please Keep us updated!

Edit: I found that these guys have, for the most part, cheaper prices than Summit and Ross on fittings and other parts. Their V-band flanges are superior to others as well as they're interlocking. will do on the hardline and get flextek black wrap where needed.

I want to make something like the carbon fiber crossram intake for the ls6
its essentially a plenium like yours, but for each bank with two 90mm TBs

btw, belive he manged to get a 5/8 (insdie rail) to 8-an fitting
ill have to get an 8an to 10an to 10an for the fuel pump i guess

Yes, hard line and flex where needed is the way to go IMO.

Are you going to be running E-85?

Most gas (at least out here in Commiefornia) is pushing E-10 already

That carbon intake is sexy! I wanted to do something similar also, but I decided the extra hassle of trying to get the siamese runners around eachother, and the extra cost of x2 TB's, cables, etc was more than it was worth to me.

Russel radius -8AN to -10 O-ring fitting at summit Summit: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-670660

Just got these for mine, but when I ordered them the description was the opposite (-10An to -8 O-ring), so wrong part for me, called and am getting correct parts as well as got the web page corrected for the common good. :beers2: They're a really nice piece, and about as cheap as you're gonna find.

What are your plans for the rest of the engine/combo?

I was planning on e85 which is why i was considering the 66lb or 88lb injectors but theres only like 2 or 3 stations that have e85..which are all 20-30 mins away..so got 48lb instead
are stations are E10 also..might be one or 2 left thats non E..
as for the engine..I just did a Headgasket on my engine...so i'll just tock that at 10psi till it gernade
by that time I should have my 355 shortblock built with the fancy hershe bottomend

i'll probably upgrade my turbos and add an intercooler during the hershe build

ps, not sure if aluminum would be right for me with the weather down here, may do NiCopp or Cunifer if they offer theright size we'll see..

Cunifer would be real nice, but is suspect 1/2" will be pricey, pricier than stainless I bet.

I'm tempted to go E85 as well.. with my 95lb injectors I'll have plenty of room... We'll see
