    I have an extra

    Mike,

I have one exactly like the one in the auction from a wildcat. I bought it on Ebay months ago and then found one for my GS the next week. I would be willing to sell it for what I paid plus shipping. I can box it up and weight it if your interested. I would estimate a total of $330 - $350 shipped to CA. I have heard bad things about the 299 Eelco ones and the bentdsen's are 385 before shipping. Let me know if your interested.

I thought the bells for the wildcats were different from the o.e. skylark/GS bells. ?????

I'm an Oldsmobile guy, but a while back I came across a 1956 GMC schoolbus that I was told had a Buick 322 in it, with a four speed setup. Would that setup fit later model Buick engines? If not, does anyone know what it would fit? John

Hey did you see 'Overhaulin' the other night? They overhauled an old school bus (a shorty) for John Force, the drag racer. Too bad it was a Ford, tho.
I think a Nailhead-powered bus would be MUCH cooler!

There were a few nailhead bellhousings from the late 50's that will not fit the later 401-425. Even tho they look identical, they are a bit wider, and just won't fit. So be careful!

I'm not 100% sure, but I sorta recall someone saying (Brian?) that the 'big-car' bellhousings interfere with the cast exhaust manifolds on the '65-66 Skylark GS.

Thanks Walt, this is in a shorty school bus and is growing in the weeds. He's open to sell it but I should get a little more information before laying out the cash. I'd hate to spend a Saturday on it then end up selling it for less than I paid! John

I believe 53-56 will not fit the 57-66...
I compile and save info from various message boards....I do have saved info that states the 53-56 nailhead uses a 1" larger diameter flywheel....so those years most likely use the wider bellhousing as well...

Mike, EELCO and Bendtsens offer alum bells:

    Bendtsens bell fits 57-66.

There is a 53-56 bellhousing on e-bay right now. Casting #1345121:

    SB to BB swap

Based on what Mike has told me he has a small block (300) 4 speed set-up and wants to use the linkage from it to actuate the clutch attached to a big block (401/425). I suggested he use an Eelco or Bendtsens bellhousing since he wants to keep his current linkage. Anyone have comments or experience doing this?

    65 linkage

    Bob,

If you decide to sell any 65 nailhead linkage parts I would like to buy them. Even the part that attaches to the frame. I have a bellhousing and pedals, but could use everything in between.
