in an attempt to convert my distributor resistance wire to a normal 12v wire, i mangled the firewall connector pin. does anyone have any spares or know where to buy them?
The resistance wire terminal does not get power in the "start" position, when cranking the engine. The yellow wire from the "R" terminal on the starter sends power to the "+" terminal on the ignition coil, to get the started. Then the resistance wire reduces the voltage to the coil. This is to keep from burning the points up.
That is good to know, i have been using the wiper power wire to power my hei for about a year now...it works quite well!
