Seller claims "book states 72 Buick 455 Stage 1 4-speed"..... While it's correct for a 72 455, it's no where near correct for a Stage 1, much less a Stage 1 4-speed as both the 7042242 and the 7042942 came on both the automatics and the 4-speed cars. Here is the carb, #7042940. See the spec sheet I've attached below....careful if you decide to get in a bidding war... :Smarty:
On May-04-05 at 18:47:30 PDT, seller added the following information: "THE INFO ON THIS CARB PERTAINING TO THE CODE WAS OBTAINED FROM "GM CARB DECODER", FOUND THROUGH YAHOO SEARCH WITH "GM CARBURETOR INFO". IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A LOT OF SCATTERED THEORIES ABOUT THIS NUMBER. AGAIN,CONFIRM YOUR APPLICATION, NO GUARANTEES AS PER THE SPECIFIC APPLICATION. I DO NOT KNOW WHICH SOURCE TO BELIEVE. THANK YOU." Actually, I May 4th, I emailed this person and told them EXACTLY what they were selling. :Smarty: "AGAIN,CONFIRM YOUR APPLICATION, NO GUARANTEES AS PER THE SPECIFIC APPLICATION." What??? o No: ou:
