Hello I have a question about my rear axle bearings.

    I have a 77 Regal with a 10 bolt CA B . ( Buick 8 type) axle.

The axle shafts has no C-CLIPS but have the wrong bearings I think. :Do No:

I have pulled out the axle shaft and and there where the bottom style bearings and I think it must be the upper style,I have some problems driving the car, its trembles at 60 mph and i have too much endplay.

So who can help me out?

Upper style & bottom style are the same, it's just the integral race on the A-9 bearing is in the housing end in the 2nd picture. Not really a big deal. It used to bother me alot years ago when an A-9 or A-10's outer race "popped" off during bearing installation, but after dealing with dozens of these A-9 bearings, came to the realization that once the axle is bolted in, the conical tapered bearings should snug right up against the race. Hope this helps.
