Worst experience in my life!

So in May I purchased a rear bumper from lwdwn1. Not only have I still not received my bumper, he is refusing to answer me back. I paid through Paypal as a 'friend or family member' thinking he was truth worthy considering most people in this forum are. Because of that I can't dispute the transaction with Paypal.

He started off by saying he was bringing the bumper to Greyhound (he lives in Canada) and that he would get me a tracking number. After 3 weeks, he proceeded to say that Greyhound did not give him a tracking number so he was going back there to get it. 2 weeks after that, he claims he got the bumper back from Greyhound, drove to Los Angeles (yes California) and dropped it at that Greyhound, once again with no tracking. After a few more weeks, he claims that Greyhound destroyed the box and the bumper was reboxed in Texas and I should have it by next Wednesday (middle of July). He now will not return emails, phone calls or texts. Another member on here bought fenders from him and finally got his.

Anyone have good suggestions as to what I should do? My heads spinning from all this. It should've never taken 3+ months to ship something.

Never get yourself talked into sending PayPal money as a gift.

I trust the "regulars" around here to send them money like that, but anyone new or I'm not familiar with, I just offer to cover the fee. If they're not comfortable with that, big red flag!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, hope it gets rectified.

I had a bumper shipped from Missouri to Bellingham Washington Via Greyhound took about a week and Greyhound called me when it arrived.
That Greyhound is the closest to Vancouver BC. There is no logical reason someone from Canada would drive all the way to LA to ship a bumper by Greyhound.
Maybe a Canadian member lives close enough to pop by and see if it has even been shipped?

I think that was the first time I went through Paypal that way. I was also in a rush to get the payment out because I was leaving the next day and didnt want to lose the bumper. His area code is 909 which is California so I guess wherever he lives in Canada doesnt help. As much as I dont want to just take it as a loss I just might. I dont think it would be pretty letting my New York side out on him :Brow:.

His address is 1933 South Oakland Ave, Ontario Ca. The google street view matches the pictures of the garage in the thread. You might want to post a thread asking if there is anyone in the area that can pay him a visit.

Okay, NEVER send money on PayPal as a gift unless it's a gift. It is 100% against PayPal policy for a seller to ask for or charge the buyer for the 3% fee. A simple email to Paypal showing them demanding it can get their account shut off, so if you do that, knock it off! I learned my lesson on Canadians a long time ago, and now NEVER buy anything online from a Canadian (got same run around on a $1500 turbo kit that never showed up). Good luck!
