    Hey all,

I have Wiseco 5055H4 pistons (.038 over w/ 22cc relief). Trying to find out if anyone might have an old spec card for these. I want to know what the piston to wall clearance is supposed to be.

Any and all help is much appreciated. Googled it and read a couple threads on here, but couldn’t come up with anything.

    Thanks!!

    Scott

If all else fails, hit up Wiseco’s tech line

Helps if i actually type something lol.

Ya, that is my last option. Just was seeing if maybe anyone had experience with these. Never know how helpful the CSR will be when calling in :D:D

I’ve had a couple sets of the 7cc pistons. Maybe I still have some paperwork around the house. If I find anything I’ll post it.

Thanks Larry for the websites. I actually looked at Wiseco and the Moore automotive one prior to starting this thread.

I just didn’t see the recommended piston to wall clearance for this specific piston. Looking at their FAQ it seems they leave somewhat open to the application use. Interesting.

I’ll have to dig up what my machine shop measured when I took them this engine. I want to say it was .003-.004 but that figure is fuzzy.

I bought this engine 10 years ago on EBay complete. Learned my lesson and will NEVER do that again...but it’s what I got so trying to correct what I can.

    Thanks again,
    Scott

Scott, I bet Jim Weise could answer your question right off the top of his head. I'm sure he has used Wiseco pistons at least a few times in some of the engines he has built.

    Thank you for that info!!

I contacted Jim and he gave me pretty much the same info (.005).

I looked thru my paperwork and found the invoice from my machine shop. After I tore the block down and took it in, we found that 7 were at .0015 and 1 was at .0040. I had the shop open them all up to .0040. Glad I’m within spec.

Thanks again everyone for the help!!!

I assume Wiseco makes pistons out of both 4032 and 2618 alloys, and the piston/wall spec is very different for each. Call Wiseco and confirm what material that part number is made out of, and use the correct spec.. off the top of my head, 4032 should be .003-.005, 2618 would be .005-.008 for that diameter piston. But dont quote me....

I dont think any of weisco stuff for bbb is 2618 material.
