I'm having the worst time trying to figure out how to wire up my autometer gauges in my 69' chevelle, first off all the markers, turnsignals, headlights, dome light work correctly, but I have two original gauge lights that stay on as soon as I hook up the battery, the head light switch is all the way off, it seems as though the other gauge lights get thier ground from when they get put into the original gauge cluster (that back is metal)

Is there a way around this, do I have to re-ground stuff because I'm changing the gauges?

it was grounds, the original gauge lights only had the positive going to them, then they grounded themselfs to the back of the gauge panel (metal) which made all the lights work!!!

I'm telling ya wiring is such a pain, I say if you have the money to pay someone else to do it, go for it cause If I was rich, I probably would have paid double or triple what the job would normally cost. wiring is a pain to begin with, then when your adding so-many new upgrades, (ele. fuel pump, line-loc, ele. fan, internal voltage reg. alt., cobalt-autometer gauges, new head unit, speakers) ALL AT ONE TIME, YOU CAN REALLY GET STRESSED OUT!!!!

    but all is good now:)
