I am trying to wire a modern seat into my 56 Buick. Seat from Buick Rainier 2005/6 right and left buckets: memory , lumber, heat, power, install in my 1956 Buick. Has anyone done this? Advice, please. This looks more complicated than I had hoped.

I am hoping someone will help me figure where to post this on V8 Buick.com. What are the chances of locating the female connector to these seats. Advise on how to locate a wrecking yard for the connectors.

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

Buick Rainier had no less than 5 other GM siblings and shares the same seats with all of them

I have a 2005 Envoy XUV and I'm pretty sure that the seats are actually controlled through the CAN Bus communications system and commanded by the BCM (Body Control Module) which receives its activation requests through the seat position switches on the side bolsters.

... short answer, the seats aren't directly controlled by the switches but by the computer

I am active on a couple of websites for these vehicles and will post a question asking for advice.

Here's the link to the question posed on GMTNation

There is a video on UTube called "power seat install" shows a 2005 Denali seat(perhaps without memory), power- ground plus a third wire power seat works ,but doesn't say how to identify that third wire. Does this apply to my situation? Sure appreciate the help.

I got the passenger seat to work, no problem... one hot ,one ground, everything works... including lumbar. I'm
thinking of using passenger seat harness and switches, if I can find them.

I think mine must be stuck. I already have the 350 out of the car. Ever bolt that can be removed has been from the fan clutch. I will take a picture when I get home this afternoon. If its stuck my newbie thought process woul be tap it both ways with my dead blow hammer to get it to break loose. I tried to post a picture last night but it failed to upload and then the wife was yelling from in the house lol. Buick time over for the day. Another though of mine is if its stuck would it be a bad idea to use on my 455. If so I don't know if it worth messing with. But a new fan clutch and fan are probably 100 bucks. So if I can hold onto my 100 bucks I will. Thanks for the help so far Larry.
