Paul, Im gonna pass on the reservoir tank,.... and that's not the rubber grommet that Im talking about. I was talking about the tiny vac. tubes that run thru the grommet on the firewall into the inside of the car that control heat and AC.

The grommet sets in the middle of the fire wall, left of the wiper motor and its 2" inches round and usually has 2 or 3 small vac tubes running thru it to the AC controls on the dash if the car had air and did you find the kick down clip by the gas pedal.

Jerrold, okay now that you decribed the gromet you I know which one it is and I can get it next time I work on the car...I spent all day tearing into the 72 car and somebody has removed the kickdown cable for the tranny......it was just laying accross the engine...I can see where it was attached but the part you are looking for is gone.

Jerrold, I'll take a picture of the gas pedal and you can tell me what you want...maybe its there and I just can't see it...

 

OK Paul, check and see if that clip is laying on the drivers side floor or maybe in the ash tray, its small and black.
