Will a '67 Steering Column Retrofit into a '65 Skylark?

Do you guys think this might work?

I'm thinking, you pick up built-in flashers and the safety of the "collapsable" column, and maybe a wider hub to mate with a Buick sport steering wheel?

Is the part that passes the dash the same width, so as to go through the same spot in the '65, or would the dash have to be screwed with?

This all comes up in my mind because my '65 steering wheel is cracky (naturally), and I have a sport wheel in the right color.

    Opinions?

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Repro 65-6 wheels are available. I believe the 65-7 columns will interchange...but the they use the smaller sport steering wheel hub, not the 69-72 hub.

i think you need the metal mount that mounts to the dash of the 67 not sure

  4. the 67 column is larger diameter and wont directly fit in the 64-66 mounting under the dash. 67-68 columns interchange and 64-66 columns interchange

cant you change the mount that big metal bracket that it bolts to and use the 67 im not sure if you can seems like it would work though cause a 66-67 dash are the same just a different bracket
