this is not a hemi kill but better a sbc 350 holley 4barrel,msd headers mild cam 1970,new paint,ha.my 63 wildcat duel exhaust two barrel carb & dynaflow.this engine came out of a lasabre installed before i got the car.any way,my brother in law always was picking on me about how he could beat me real bad with the malibu.one day me & my grandson were riding around coolin it.i turned a corner at a stop sign, and he was just sitting there in the road,i pulled up beside him to ask if anything was wrong.he said no, was i ready to race,i said yup i recon,he just stomped the thing with no warning or count to 3 or any thing,i pulled the cat in low and nailed it. caught him and passed him before i shifted to drive, didn,t have a chance to use the cable operated switch pitch, which would have really blowed him away.he told me later that when i went by him the right rear tire was hazing a little smoke, and that he was only running on 2 barrels,i laughed and told him that i only had a 2 barrel,he didn,t pick on me after that & he told some of his chevy buddies about it.i will always cherish that that kill.donny
Nice kill! And this with a two (!) barrel carb. My buddy has a 67 el camino with a 327cui and th350, hooker headers, edelbrock intake, 600cfm carb and a mild cam. My Riviera is original, except for the 750cfm Holley with carb spacer, but still running the dynaslow trans. When I start in LOW, I can make already about a car length after a few meters with a spinning tire (non-posi rearend) and he cant get me.... until I have to shift to DRIVE. Thats the reason why I want a new Transmission, the car has massive power in LOW but in DRIVE it feels like somebody pulled some plug wires off.... I think a th400 or th700 with a nice Cam and shorty headers should be enough to beat him at the quatermile. Also want to cut out the Divider on the intake and do a proper tune up to the carb and ignition. :3gears:
