Wildcat trunk lid. Very good original condition. In local yard's sheet metal pile. Guessing mid sixties by the styling cues, although the car it came from is long gone.
Years ago, the matching hood for this trunk lid, was also in the local yard, where this trunk lid is. Maybe?? it is still there, but have my doubts. I looked for it, when I posted the trunk lid, and didn't readily see it over at yard. (the trunk lid is theirs, am simply trying to help find a home, and split the proceeds) Shipping for a full size hood would have to be truck freight, it would be too big for the Bus. I don't think I would even ship something that big, unless the buyer prepaid and pre-arranged all shipping and paid for a Wooden crate, which I could build. Have had a handful of customers, over the years, who did do just that, set up all the shipping through their preferred truck freight carrier. Serious customers who knew what they needed, and stepped up to acquire it. Am simply tired of all the hassles with large item shipping, and doing all the leg-work. I did once sell a 69-70 Grand Prix hood, and went ahead and built a crate for the guy, and got burned on the crate fee, so still remember that. Desert Valley (DVAP) in Phoenix may very well have it, they had a good amount of sixties full size Buicks when I walked their yard in June 2017. DVAP elicits a range of emotions from different people. They do have an established system for shipping in place. You might also reach out to member "66 electrified" he is in CANADA and should have more insight on availability of 66 full size parts than I would.
OK NMG: I'd love to have that decklid but shipping would kill the cost. I would also love to have that 60 Buick sedan, again, between what I'd offer and shipping it would be an impossibility. BTW, I thought I was the only one who had a horrible experience with DVAP. To address the 66 Full size Buick hood....Le Sabre is shorter than Wildcat and Electra by several minches. The gobbledygook between the lamination separates and rust starts from underneath. Many suffer so BEWARE !! Mitch
BUS shipping for the Trunk lid would be $150-$175 ish to California. EDIT - greyhound package express ceased operations 9/30/22. Nothing else comes close. No Fastenal third party shipping here, they don't do it.
Looked in yard this morning. Saturday 6/6. Maybe?? This is the hood that goes with the trunk lid?? The styling cues are similar.
Hi, Thanks for the heads up. I don't need the trunk lid as badly as a hood for full size 1966 buick. Further, I am looking for the following for 1970 Buick Electra 2 doors; trunk lid, doors, and hood. If you come across any, I would appreciate a heads up.
1966 Hollander numbers. Buick Hood. Three different numbers for '66 also. (664, 665, 666) They changed every year.
Reposting for a party asking about the hood, here are the pictures. The trunk lid, with the “Wildcat” letters is still there, also.
Will sell Hood Spear and remaining Letters on Hood, (B U C K) if anyone is interested. Same goes for Trunk Lid trim and "Wildcat" letters. They are not perfect, have yard "wear" but are certainly serviceable and usable.
