Wife wants a '68 or '69 A-body *on hold atm*

Exciting times at my house!! My wife wants to buy either a '68 or '69 Special/Skylark/GS400. Doesn't care if its a 4-door or 2-door. Hardtops, convertables or whatever is fine with her.
Important thing is that it can't have rust or significant body damage. Minimal surface rust is ok. any engine size is fine. She would like a nice interior though. Color is not important as long as it's purple she says... (just kidding)
Please send me any pictures and offers to my work email.

This is not a rush and we may not have the money for a couple months but I'd like to get the ball rolling and see what's out there so she'll have as large a selection as possible.

    Thank you!!!

Greg Schmelzer What are you looking at?!

    Try this one!!

Todd. Here is a link for a '69 GS400 that Mike Garrison (RACEBUICKS) has for sale. I can vouch for Mike's body work as his and his wife's car look great some 15+ years later. Give it a looksee. :TU:

This one looks pretty good for the right price.

Plus it's on the west coast.

Thank you everyone for your emails and posts.
However my wife cant make up her mind which year of Buick she wants. She keeps changing her mind between the '68 - '69 body styles or the '70 - '72 body styles. I don't mind, I'm excited that she wants a Buick!

I will post an update on this thread when she finally decides on a body style.

    Thanks

    Hey Todd,
Is "location" important? During my travels, I just met an owner of a '68 Skylark Custom, and it is probably one of THE most "original" examples that you'll find! :Smarty:

I'm not a "fan" of the '60s Skylarks, but I'm familiar with them simply because they ARE Buicks. :Smarty: I stopped to introduce myself to the owner, and he said "It might be For Sale, I just don't want any Tire Kickers to know about it (meaning SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY)."

What I SAW and what He TOLD ME, was:

    It's an ORIGINAL 80,000 mile car (350).
Even has the ORIGINAL Redline (bias ply) TIRES!
He said it's "only insured to drive 2,000 miles/year" (which means he drives it LESS than that! :Smarty: )
It's White with a Black Vinyl Top, and a Black Interior. One of the options that I saw was the Buick "Tissue Dispenser" under the Dash! (How RARE is that? )

Anyway, with a LITTLE (I mean VERY little) Detailing (cleaning, shining, etc.), this car would be in "SHOW" condition, EASILY!

We traded information, so I have his name/number if you'd like more information about it, just let me know! :TU: :bglasses:

This car is NICE, but since "I" wasn't interested in it, I never bothered to ask how much he was asking.

The car is located in Clinton, Iowa.

I referred him here to V8Buick, so he might even be a recent member (I hope). :bglasses:

    Good, clean car.

    Hello Everybody,

I appreciate all the posts and read them all. Please keep them coming 'cause I show them all to my wife.

    Scott!
She says she would like to know more about the '68 Skylark custom. I hope it's OK if we use you for our "eyes" over there. :Brow:
If you could give me his contact information and give my email address to this guy for Pictures and stuff I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you David for the picture, the wife is very visual and that helped a lot!

Kparts, we'll be looking at your car too as soon as I can tear her away from the News

    Thank you all

    Hey Todd,
As David posted the picture of his, the car that I described looks "that nice" (except not a GS, it's a Skylark Custom!)

Flat Skylark hood (not Ram Air), and Skylark Custom badges are the main differences, besides interior options, maybe.

Yes, it does look similar to that, though. If she "likes" David's car, then she'd LOVE this car! :Smarty: :TU:

I'll probably be able to call the owner tomorrow night (Friday), as I'll be in his area, to get more info for you. :bglasses:
