Why'd it take me so long to click here?

I've been coming to the v8buick for a longish while now. I always thought this was a tech area for help from the buick gurus.

I'm glad to see this here though. Yet another reason I feel at home on this board. Buicks, alot of you guys own b-body chevs, and a deep root in God.

I guess I'll share one of my biggest "God Moments" for you all so you know where I'm coming from.

I used to be a proud member of the Air Force for 7 years. I had a wife, and 3 kids back then. (still do actually) My oldest daughter Melissa had a very odd sickness. She would not gain weight, and for a while she would loose weight. It got to the point I was honestly worried that she would not make it. We were in Germany at the time and REALLY needed to get out of there. The medical care was not up to par with what Melissa needed.

We finally (after prayer, why is that always the last option?) moved to San Antonio Tx so she could get the proper care. She had surgery to put a NG tube in her stomach so we could feed her extra food. She ate normally, but for some unknown reason would not gain weight. She's been tested for every possible illness/condition and had none of them?

I was assigned to a new job where the skills I learned were VASTLY more marketable to the outside world. (computer security)

Melissa got better as long as we fed her through her tube at night. Due to cutbacks the military medical benifits where decreased. They would only provide the care they were providing for my daughter IF there was a diagnosis. The cost for me to make things work was slightly less than my paycheck, so there was NO WAY I could make things work. There was a freeze on getting out for my AFSC, and we pretty much fell through all the cracks for support (WIC, Food Stamps, etc......) After trying to fight the system for weeks, I gave up and prayed (You think I would have learned the last time wouldn't you?) My senator heard of the situation and wanted me to report to her what was going on and the road block. I was put on the fast track to get out before a congressional inquery was held of my unit. I was slated to go to MN for training, and my boss forced me to go. My family is in MN and I had enough time for 1 interview. I got that job. I move up,and within a week I got another job making 20,000 more. We moved up, and lived with my inlaws for a while while our house in SA sold. Everyone was pressuring us to look for houses and do stuff, but I finally figured out that when the Bible says to wait upon the Lord, it MEANS wait upon the Lord. Our house sold, and within I think it was 3 days we found a house totally out of what I wanted to spend that we made a riduculous offer (about 20,000 less than list) and they accepted.

Shortly after that my Daughter started growing and no longer needed the tube. That was 2 years ago, and she is perfectly healthy and in gymnastics class now.

My paster said once that God gives us heavy burdens to help teach us to trust him with the small ones. God's grace is always Great. God's Grace is aways free for the taking. All we have to do is ask. Don't use God as a last resort like I did. God should be (and now is) my continual support.

Just thought I'd share. Sorry if I ramble.

    Jason,

Great rambling. God works in His own time. He teaches us all in different ways, as well. Great news on your daughter, I hope she continues to thrive.

 Jason: Thanks for sharing the Good News! What we allways seem to forget is that God made us in His own image and desired fellowship with us! He adopted us into the family to be fellow heirs with Jesus! Look at all the things you were willing to go thru and do for your daughter, God our Father loves us even more and is willing and has gone a lot farther for those who seek Him! I pray your daughter keeps improving and your faith keeps growing. God Bless Jake
