To those that have already registered (and those that are going to)... I JUST spoke with Jon, and instead of you guys registiering as Non-Turbo Buick, you'll be put into a class structure like the Turbo Buicks already have. During the race NA cars will run as a group, and turbo cars will run as a different group. If you've already registered, you'll be getting an e-mail from me today asking which bracket that you want to be shifted into.
Hey Gary, while I'm pondering, I'll just let you know that IF I come out I'm most likely riding in a big silver bird, not a Suburban pulling a trailer. It's possible, but not likely. As for Rick...har dee har har!!! His wife wouldn't let him take off for that long of a trip to go racing if his life depended on it! :spank: At least Mike G. is halfway there already. later.
Maybe if I had an engine done it may be a question. But thats pretty remote at this point in time. Rick
I figured it was a long shot for anyone very far, but what the heck, it was worth a shot. And any way you get there Doug is OK by me; I don't know if I could stand being at a Buick event without my car but I might have to try it in Tennesee or some other venue someday.
Doug: You and Ricky poo can fly out, rent a FWD Buick and trash the snot out of it at the track. Red eye out to Vegas, tickets are cheap, but not as cheap as Rick M. Rick: You're still a pig.
hmmm Vegas in October.....gee that sounds nice. To bad its so close to the Cecil County race date. Being that I recently quit my job of 12 years, time off work is no longer an issue, now it comes down to a money issue. With the event dates being back to back I can only make one trip and Cecil is only 8-9 hours away..... Sure would be nice to get out there and finally meet the man that I've been ragging on for the last couple years...someday Gary, someday! I'd really really love to make a pass side by side so Gary can see my tail lights.... Sounds like a great time and I wish everyone the best of luck. Do good and kick $ss........
If I fly out I'll make sure to ask Rick if Karen will let him out of the house long enough to make the trip. I won't be surprised by the answer though! :ball:
Dyno at Las Vegas? There's a poll on the West Coast Nationals page (http://www.westcoastnats.com/) under "Smack" asking whether we'd buy chassis dyno time if a portable unit was available on site. I'm not sure if you have to be registered to get into the Smack but I'd guess yes. At any rate, after you've registered be sure to answer the poll. I, for one, would LOVE to get my car on one of these. Maybe the price will go down with high volume of cars using it. ???
Actually, it's not a portable dyno. There's a guy right next to the track that has one. If there's enough interest, we are planning to see what deal we could get with him.
I just snagged a room at the host hotel...... It didn't sound like there was many left.... you may want to act fast to insure getting one.
Hey guys, Just noticed the Vegas meet. While I lurk the board here now and again, I haven't spent too much time here as my Electra 225 Vert is finally almost ready to drive. I will try to make it to the event, but I'd be racing my 2000 Regal GS. Its FWD, but with the mods, I should be able to pull low 14s with traction. I run mid-high 14s at LACR in Palmdale(in the heat), LVMS is about 1000 ft better elevation(but just as hot). I'm coming from Palmdale, CA so its only about 3.5-4 hours away. I didn't see any other W-body Regals, so I posted a link to the event page at www.regalgs.org. Anyway, I hope to be there. IF I do make it, do I run with the V8s or the turbo cars, mine is a supercharged 6. :Brow: Maybe I can have my own group.o No:
Since a turbo car is notoriously inconsistent in the 1/4, turbo cars run together, and everything else is another class.
"Since a turbo car is notoriously inconsistent in the 1/4, turbo cars run together, and everything else is another class. Jack B." OUCH!
I did not mean that as an insult. It's difficult to win at bracket racing with a turbo car vs. a N/A car.
