Well last year only consisted of two passes that resulted in internal engine damage (don't ask about why. Machine shops :af: )

So this year the car will again move under it's own power and make some passes. By the way, since the motor was apart and two rods needed replaced and we couldn't find replacement rods and the crank needed replaced ... (breathe)... I took the stroker crank out and put a standard stroke in it with longer rods. I also have a 3" exhaust on the way and I'm close to getting the back seat fitted around the rollbar. :Brow: Get where this is going? Hint: the car will weigh 3800 lbs.

    See ya.

Trying to take a big step this year, I just don't know if Uncle Sam will let me. Here is my setup the only thing I'm waiting on are the rods, machine work and sometime.

Stage3 494, 12.5:1 NOS motor. I just got my solid flat tappet cam from Lunati specs are: 278/290@.050 with .658/.680 lift with 1.70 rockers. In pick the cam profile, I was shooting to make peak power above 7000 off the bottle. This should put me peaking around 6500-6800 on the juice. I'll will be running a tunnel ram with twin 950 hp's, stage3 heads ported by Jim B. (360/270cfm int/ext)and a pro fogger NOS system. Looking into using a progressive nitrous controller to help out on hooking this thing and to ease into the pounding of the bottom end. Also I'm working with Peterson Fuild Systems on using their external wet sump vac-u-pump system (oil/vacum pump).

I still need to take care of a few things to the drivetrain and chassis. I'm going to replace the 4.88's with 3.54 in the old dana, and add an anti-roll bar to the 4 link setup. Replace the 32x14.5w with some 10.5/10.5w's.
Need to talk to Hughes and others about torque converters. Remove the two miles of cross-over/delay box wiring and throttle stop/air shifter hose. Upgrade my fuel system. And find a clean set of steel doors to replace the glass ones.

After all is said and done I would like to see some 5.30's in the 1/8. I may end up just seeing my bottom end.

I will make you a killer deal on all the electronics. I will post tomorrow everything that I have. Yes Rick is a good dude we have been friends for going on ten years now and I spung off him more now than he did me in the day. The first time I ever meet rick I was driving by this house from a buddy's of mine. I hate to say but in my younger days I would have a few and then drive home. Having said that, I was late for dinner and loaded. So as I was drive home I pass this guys house I see 2 buick A bodies out front. I pull my butt in his driveway and tell his cat(rick) that I have a 71 GS and that I'm late. I toss him a bussiness card that I made at a bar (another trip). It read

    BUICKS FOR SPEED(ring a bell)
    racing and performance

    Cory Ackley

And what every my phone numbers was.

Man I'm glad those days are long gone, but hey I was young and dumb.

As far as cars go I had him the first five years. He's owned me the last five(stationed in Germany) So I'm working my way back.

Hey Gary, are you asking who IS going faster for 2003, or who PLANS on going faster in 2003? From past experience the amount of changes I am making this year to go faster may result in just trying to get to the end of the track!

Well I hope to be going a little faster in the summer of 2003 All I need now is a few top end parts and a little machine work. This will be my first BBB. Up to this point it's been the 350's.

Let's shoot for 180 MPH. Went 179.73 on my last pass of the year at Las Vegas. Maybe if I can keep it together at one of those sea level tracks out east........who knows. OH, I'm sorry, I forgot, I only have a V6 ! OOPS:Dou:
