Tough to sell the wife that a 30 year old Buick is a better grocery getter than a new Trackhawk. There's at least a slight chance she'll only see SUV and not 9 sec beast. And it can pull the boat or even a newer bigger boat and all the stuff you buy for grandkids. Yea that's what I'm going with, its for the grandkids. I'll let you know how comfortable the couch is.

I would always rather have a V8 and have never had the desire for a hair dryer. But, if Buick made a modern rear wheel drive that looked something like a 1970 GS, and that ran low 11's from the factory, I certainly would have at least shopped the car. Like me, you probably can't even imagine such a thing. In this case, there was no Buick to "rather".

My cousin ordered one. He had told me they were put on hold until they could figure out how to make the drivetrain livable.

I can believe that, almost makes me want one that much more.

  5. Sitting at the Dodge dealership getting first oil change on my ScatPack and the salesman is trying to convince me the wife wouldn't notice if I traded it for same color HellCat sitting on the showroom floor.. only problem is as I walked out the door this morning the last thing she said was " don't buy a car"

Tell them to knock another $10k off and then maybe you could start talking about a deal. :>)

A twin to mine with the exception of the sunroof. Make sure to buy the Mopar warranty too!

Brian, I have bought extended warranties for Chrysler products from a dealer in NC that sells them wholesale. Pm for info if interested.

Drive it we shall. However, the HC doesn't come close to my '15 Corolla for fit and finish. Both out of Canada - and the toyo is less than a third in cost. I'm not trying to start a flame war or even fire a ICBM over Japan, I'm just stating a simple fact. The Corolla was perfect in every way, and the Challenger, well, I'm going to assume since it was built in July, the regular front clip guys n gals were on vacation and the painting robots were having a very "wet" day. I've just got my fingers crossed my car doesn't have one of the bad superchargers from IHI or that the unit fails sooner rather than later. Word has it the fix is a mere 17k.

Chris, I didn't study warranties but the fellow at the dealership suggested there was only one extended warranty available on the SRT Hellcat...and I sprung for it.

  16. I have the same complaint about fit and finish on my Challenger. my Mustang was awesome compared to the Challenger in that dept..in fact all 3 Mustangs I have owned since 2011 have been perfect in that regard.

It was "sooner". It happened @ 769 miles, climbing approximately a 2% grade at highway speed. The car is in the shop now. FCA seems to be doing everything right so far - currently waiting on the new parts. If anyone is going to buy a HC, especially out of warranty, I highly suggest reading up on the matter.

What exactly happened when it failed? No nasty bits of supercharger went into the engine I hope...

Some Hellcats are under an engine recall.
