Who can do a nice repair on a fan shroud? I have one that I would like to get a price on repairing it.

    Thanks for any help

Check with Jason (Buick64203). I think he has done a few.

They're not that hard to repair. Ive repaired them using plastic from another shroud and plastic welding it together- basically using a soldering iron and slivers of plastic as solder. Ive also used JB weld as fan shroud bondo. Works well.

To cover your tracks, I take satin finish paint and scuff it with a scotchbrite pad to mimic the original finish of the plastic. You can even get away with just painting the area of the repair and leaving the rest of the shroud "raw"

Thank you for the tips and help.

I do not have the missing pieces for the 70 GS 455 shroud but I have a 70 GS 350 shroud that I can cut the pieces out of. It ashamed to cut it up but I have not been able to find the hook area that I need. I guess it would be best to cut straight lines to fit the new pieces.

    Thanks again

That's similar to the damage my old shroud had that I repaired. I wouldn't cut anything off the 70 BB shroud. If I were repairing it, I would cut the pieces off the SB shroud to fit. After your done, tape it off at the two seam lines and paint the top section. My original 70 shroud had a flex fan go through it. Naturally, the pictures from the thread are gone. That repaired shroud is on Larry Gibson's GSX now

If you don't mind shipping it I would do it for you, I've got a couple donor 70 350 shrouds that are busted on the bottom, and I've fixed more bumpers than I care to remember , ,..same animal

No problem. That repro didn't do the car justice. That whole story still gives me a chuckle.
