Hi My name is Julian and I have been around Buicks most of my life. You see my father's first car was a 65 mustang convertible and a Chevy Nova with 396. This cars he bought were used. His first car he ever bought brand new was a 72 GS 350 from Gillispie Buick Dealer. She was Cortez Gold with a black vinyl roof with 3.08 gears. Not a bad choice for a Navy man with a family of four

At age 11, my father started teaching me about car maintenance which the GS was the guinea pig. I learned a lot! And we even built the engine together when I 15-16. The local machine put a cam in it. But alas, being young I overevved it and hoses the engine. We had to find another candidate. The car sat for a bit.

Upon high school graduation, my parents gave me a choice between a BMW 325 or Buick GN. I chose the latter and picked her off the car hauler with 2 miles on it at Perry Buick in Norfolk, VA.

Sure enough, I played with the car and the GM reps Were in presence at the local drag way to take down Vin numbers and remove them from warranty. The solution was to put your time slip over the Vin number. Tweaking and working with people like Lawrence Conley and DuttWeiler. The car actually got quicker for less money compared to what other people are spending for the same ET and MPH. I guess you call it.. Using your brain or wit. At the IHRA "Little Guy Nationals," everyone witness with my Western auto $35 tires running into the 12s! Mind you these are not drag radials! This was back in 89! Then ran quicker several years later into the 11s. The rumors are rampant as my locals racing buddies assumed I had gone into the engine which I didn't. I just optimized everything. Those tolerances are horrid!

Nevertheless, I got married and purchased a 69 gutless with a 350 Rocket engine and 3.90s. I played with that engine a bit since she hit 427 Hp on the Fun I. Sold the car for cheap! At this point in time, I was And assistant manager at an auto parts store and ran my own shop Where people would get their car serviced or wanted to go fast.

It was time to play with GS and sought a 455. I had its sonic tested in had a local machine shop perform the girdle work. The shop was good because they worked with Mike.

And then I had another project going a regal race car with a big Turbo V6 in it which dynoed at 1377 hp back in 96?

But good things came to an end…. A divorce came and all the toys went......

    Now I'm back again… :)

After being a regional distribution manager in biobased agriculture chemicals and a DOD contractor (flight dynamic software engineer).. I had to get away from a desk job..

So I got into dog sports....

In 2005, I got my first back. Taught her run for Jack Russell racing.. at 11" she ran the 40 yard dash high 4.1s and her personal best 4.09s. That is basically 20 mph!

    In 2007..
I competed in agility in AKC and USDAA with my jacks. They were known as 'bullets because they were equal or faster than some of the national ranked border collies. The jacks were quick! Lots of blue ribbons!

I hunted with my jacks with GPS collar and At times in Pennsylvania, I would have people come up to my door and ask if I could bring my jacks over to get some rodents I river crops or around the property because at times their dogs had no idea what to do.

    2010

I just got my 1st border collie originally trained with the United States world team for agility. But plans change and I ended up doing a sport called fly ball which is basically a Relay for dog drag race with a Christmas tree! There's a speed fix with mind games!

    2015

I got involved in the whippet racing! Watching these dogs run from as slow as 35 to fast as 42 mph is eye popping! One of my whippets ended getting her straight line and uval race championships nd was ranked in the top 10 in the nation last year. Fast bitch!

    2016

Created my own fly ball team To compete at the national and world levels. We are currently ranked in the top 10 of the world as one of the quickest teams. Mind you, I have a 16 year old and a 15 year old on the team so they lack a lot experience

    Schlepcar..

Yes! I have been planning for the past several months .. I am going to put a Buick V8 and Tremec TKO 600 in a Factory Five MK IV Roadster kit car. The car weighs 2200 lbs with 90" wheelbase. Its an AC Cobra replica.

Now if I run into a great deal on GS..I will sidestep this!!
