I don't drive this car in winter (but my friend who owned it before me did, he bought it to use as a winter beater). As you can see on pictures, there is still a lot of snow remaining in spring here!
Update: I still have the poverty caps on my Wildcat but I took a few minutes to repaint the wheels. It looks a bit better now! I haven't lost a small hubcap yet so my problem seems to be solved!
I took other pics of it a few days ago, I think I'll leave it that way, I'm getting used to it! I have solved my problem with falling wheelcovers!
Looking very fine there Phil! I heard more stories of lost 65 hubcaps last weekend. I'm thinking of going with that look on the Wagon- original wheels were painted body color (red) and had the small caps. Some wide 15's painted red with the poverty caps would look great. Thanks for the :TU: on the BCA board too! :beer :beer
Ted, I also think that poverty caps would look great on your wagon. I brought my camera at my job last week as the house is about to get some major interior renovations to make it safer. I took a few shots inside to keep as a souvenir. I thought that it was the perfect day to picture the car as the rain makes the cheap paint less evident (but I should have washed it before!). I hope to find a more decent rear bumper (or have this one rechromed) and to repaint it this summer. I have a NOS passenger side fender waiting to be installed on it too.
Phil, How do those things mount to the rim? I've got the steel wheels on my sedan and want to get a set on it. I don't see any mounting tabs on my rims. o No:
There are 4 holes in each wheel, you have to get the clips that mount in them to hold the poverty caps. I had a hard time finding those for my car! Many early 50's Buicks have similar clips but they have 5 per wheel and they are a different model...
I agree with you. Dog dish and black walls is for me, big engine and 2dr post, sometimes 2dr ht. Nice car anyway.
