Which Holley carb do you guys recommend for a 73+ 350 SBB. 8.5-1 cr, poston manifold, headers, and a very mild cam (poston gs-110). I was looking at the 750 cfm holley 4150 or 4160. One that I found lists it as having a ford kickdown? the car is going to be a cruiser and not a race car. Electric choke? i would like to get something out of the box that would work well and be reliable without breaking the bank. Thanks for any advice.

i think u will be fine with either of the 2 as long as they are in good condition. i have read that the double pumper will make more power, but i have used both with good results. good luck to you.:beer ralph sr.

I know you asked about which Holley, but in your case you would really be better off with a Q-jet.

If you really want a Holley I would go with this one from QuickFuel. QuickFuel seems to be the only one of the custom carb builders reworking the Avenger series.
http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/home_2.htm (go to the 780 cfm Street carb with vacuum secondaries)
Should give you lots of room to grow if you want to get more radical in your combination. On top of that they build a really good looking carb.

I think the QJ is a better option. I know, I know, that everyone here says that the 750 is okay and that Buicks love big carbs. It's physics and it has nothing to do with being a Buick. GM put 750 QJ's on everything because of economics and the available functionality offered in QJ. With Q-Jet size does not matter so much because the airvalve spring and the bleed-off on the choke pulloff diaphram only open the secondaries as much as the motor can handle.
I have a very strong naturally aspirated SBB and the 750 QJ is more than enough. In addition to the 750 QJ I did dyno pulls with a 750 Holley, a 650 DP and a 650 QuickFuel. The 750 Holley was too much, either of the 650's was a better option. They both brought the power on faster than the 4150 750 HP Holley. I gave the QJ I dyno'd with to my brother for his SBB. I put a 800 QJ on it and could never get it tuned quite right, it was running lean. Motor just could not draw enough air through the larger venturis on the 800 to bring in the fuel. The motor loves the 750 QJ.
Extensively ported heads, big valve set, reshaped runners, ported intake, ports/gasket matched, headers, TA 413 on 110, 1.65 roller rockers, 10.5:1, 3.55 gears, 3500 stall. Made +410hp from 5200 to 6200. Made 400ft-lbs or better from 4000-5800 with the John Osborne tuned QJ, why go anywhere else?
