I see they sell a Semi Gloss and a Matte. Which would be correct (or closest) for inner fender on a 1970 GS?
If you go the Rustoleum Route be prepared to wait forever to dry. If there is pollen in the air or bugs forget it. Under hood and Krylon are lacquer and dry fast.
Make sure you Google on your phone. How much humidity in the air. Always spray flat matt colors under 60% humidity. If you you spray in high humidity. The paint sheen will be way off
Steve, don’t you want hardner? I would think so. Paint gets scratched from wire harness contact, cleaning etc.
I've had good results with black POR-15, wait 1 hour, and spray satin clear over it. Let dry 24 hours. Use a clear that has UV block. I'm just looking for an alternative that's better.
Be careful with POR. You can end up with a disaster on your hands that never comes off if you don’t like the look.
Dave i believe the SEM has no hardener. I could be wrong. But SEM is a very unique paint company. I thought i used that SEM. and there is no hardener.
POR-15 Does not like Heat & High humidity. It will kick right out of the gun. It will not lay down easy. Cool and dryer air. I’m sure it’s Great. I sprayed underneath of my car on a 90* morning. 90% humidity. in my driveway. nightmare. paint job was a disaster. Me and 8 friends carried my car upside down back in my garage with the air condition cranking. Then the paint job did a 360. flowed out and hours later it was fine.
Dave i guess i used SEM chassis black. might be different than Hot Rod Black. I thought hot rod black was a Rubber seal product
