Clint from Calgary, Canada used to be on here a lot. Last post was in early 2011. Anyone know where he is?

I recall him saying he was working a lot. Perhaps that's why he's not around. :Do No:

Hey Ramin - still got the white Regal running??

Leviathans don't die, but we do get trapped in work hell. Long story short in 2011 some jackass in Houston had my team laid off after 2 straight years of record profits. These were guys I had personally hired and assured they were joining a success story.... so I quit my job and started a company out of my old team. I've done 5289 billable hours in the last 2 years

...so the Wagon project has sat idle. :ball: Last week I finally had some time to look at `er again and started putting doors back together but it's a drop in the bucket.

Nice to know I'm not completely forgotten...now I have to go read the news on all the projects I've missed :beer

Hey Clint! Glad to hear you're still around!

Wish we all had bosses like you! Work is important, and it sounds like you've been sacrificing for the sake of the folks you hired, but take time to "smell the roses". For me, those roses are my family. I just took a little time off to do stuff with the kids while they're young. After the Midwest Buick Challenge in 2007, I have not raced...after 25 years my butt was not in a car on a track. I didn't lose complete interest, but I knew the car would be there long after the kids were out of the house. I put 10-20 street miles on it each summer, and actually didn't start it at all in 2010.

So the white car lives. In '07 I had installed a nitrous system bought and spec'ed out from Rick Crawford (Buicks4Speed; He's another one like us, busier with life/work for the time being I hear). I only tested it once on track (at the '07 MWBC) and the safety systems shut it down right at launch due to low fuel pressure. I started driving the car again this month and started messing with the nitrous system again. I might bring it to one of the Buick events this year.

Funny thing is, I look at the combo, set-up, wiring, plumbing and all the work I put into it and I can't really remember half this stuff I did! I kept great notes and I looked at what I did to remember and I think "who was that mad-man"?! I would spend obsessively so much time on every little detail, it's no wonder I later thought I had no time for it. I must've been nuts.

Here is a pic I dug up. It motivates me again...

Yup - you gotta take time for the kids while you can, the car won't age. Certain customers of mine are childish but we don't have kids or this job would be brutal. I had to put the roses on hold for a few years, but it's working out so far.

...that said - great pic! If you can get it up and running that thing will be a disgusting amount of fun!! Nothing like lifting the front a bit. If ti's still starting and running you can at least get the occasional run out of it. Best advice - run the thing to work one morning!

Agreed that it is tough to keep interest up when work runs out all your energy. I find the interest is still there - get a twinge walking past it every day but it's too low on the priorities. Having read the posts here I went and put in the tinted windows on Sunday instead of going in to the office. Really miss driving this thing and seeing it improve every few weeks.

Maybe watching the board projects is a happy medium...

Good to see you pop back in Clint! I've always enjoyed seeing the progress of your wagon. I would agree that sometimes when work gets busy, its other people's projects that get me motivated to do little things on my own car when time allows.

Hey Rob! great to hear from you. I still have not been to as good a car show as the Kings Cruise.

...and on that note I stayed up late for a weekend doing some reassembly and sorted out a new set of wheels. I completely blame all of you guys for this!!
