Where do these AC wires go?

    tubecatgs Finally a 4 speed......

Reinstalling the engine after a rebuild... took lots of pics but apparently not of these wires...

The green one from the Compressor plug is bare and looks broken off but don't know from where?

There is a brown wire from the wiring harness, looks like it plugs into a black connector and the other side of the connector is red with a push in connector at the end... no idea where that goes.

The black wire has a round wire connector with rubber cap and can't for the life of me figure out where it plugs in.

    Thanks for any help.

The little black plug goes on the very back of the compressor. Its called the "superheat switch". meant to disengage the compressor in the event you lose the Freon. The green wire should comes out of the main engine harness to the compressor, so you should have a green wire somewhere on the main harness by the valve cover. The other plug Im going to need to see a better pic. That looks so familiar but I just cant place it offhand

Im thinking the red wire might go on the blower relay on the dash. Do you have a spade on the relay with no wire on it by chance?

Scratch what I said about the green wire, since its a 72, the green wire should go to the thermal fuse. That the thing that clips to the upper AC bracket. The black superheat wire should go to the same switch

ok thanks Jason. Yes, the green wire went to the "thing" clipped on the AC bracket... (it must have just pulled out). The black wire with the round plug went to the back of the Compressor.... Not sure what you mean about the spade on a relay for the brown/red wire? This wire was in the engine harness on the engine.... It comes out of the engine harness about 1/2 way and is brown. Then it looks like someone after the big black plug turned it red.... still stumped on that one... its very long and could go forward or backward....

Keep in mind that I am such a rookie that it could go somewhere that I have another wire incorrect :) ...

    Thanks

Ok, according to the wiring diagram, the middle wire coming out of the "thing" clipped to the upper AC bracket (thermal limiter) should be brown. That should go to a plug that also has a black/red wire on the same side of the plug. On the other side of the plug is a red wire and a green wire. The red wire goes to the AC blower motor relay that is bolted to the firewall (silver looking little box with wires connected to it). The green wire goes to the compressor clutch control switch

If that's not right, we're going to need some better pics

Thanks Jason. This still has me stumped...the A.C. relay has everything connected and blower works. I put a test light to this wire and no power with ignition on or off.... anyone more thoughts? Sorry man...

No problem! We're gonna need some better pics then. See if you can trace the wiring back a little more to see where is coming from
