http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1871656807 Where do people get their info? This a 1 of 176,highly doutful. Some people should just not reproduce.ou:
As per the atlantabuick.com site, there were 176 floor-mounted 3spd GS350's in 1970. The other 48 were on the column. Looks like he got it right.
Not to defend the Jack Ass but you know he's right in general some of these sellers throw down some unbeleivable numbers to comfirm that their car has value more than it looks like it should!!! :spank:
1 of 53 Well according to information obtained from The Alfred P. Sloan Museum, my Wildcat is one of only fifty-three produced like it in 1965. Here's a link to their website just in case anyone wants to research their car to see how rare it is. http://www.sloanmuseum.com/buick_gallery.html
Robert, how did you obtain that information? I was able to get my Build Sheet data from Sloan, but did not see how to get production breakdowns like you recieved for your wildcat. Thanks!
Thru a freind A freind of mine sent them to me. He is also restoring some Wildcats. He got some Wildcat production figiure info from the Sloan and forwarded me copies. I'm not sure how he went about getting such detaild info. I'll certainly try and find out.
Not a problem, I wouldn't worry about it. I just thought that it was pretty neat that they were able to do that for you. I don't think they could do that for my '70 GS because they only have data for half of the '70 cars. The rest of the information is privately owned, but the owner's name slips my mind.
I just sent him an e-mail invite to come and join in since I don't think he's aware of this board:TU: Hopefully he will be able to answer you himself:Smarty:
Sloan Museum Info Hey all, I contacted the Sloan Museum for several bits of info and was offered the year end production report. This is my explaination from the BCA forum: The data was presented on a "Daily Car Report", summarizing the # of cars produced then detailing each option for the entire 6000 series, then breaking it down further for each sub series. So, 1 main report , 10 sub series reports. Report lists each option, then how many were made @ each assembly plant, then a total for all plants. There were certain combinations of options listed, like A8 - B3, or A8 - I6 (a/c). For 65 it seems these combinations have a lot to do with components of the car-door panels with cut outs for the PW and the Vacuum door locks, or the instrument panel center, which had either a/c or non, ACC switch and antenna and so forth. I back figured things like the radio delete-215 Custom coupes in 65 came with out radio the way I figured. My Convertible 4-speed came with an LT engine, being the most popular combination with the 4-speed @ 53 (Deluxe and Custom Convertibles) There are probably these reports for more years and models. My obsession is with the 65 Wildcats!
