Ed - trying to figure out what size they are is the challenge. Can you get a accurate measurement of the diameter of one of the trim studs that these thread on to? Or.....for example, I just checked the stamped "acorn" nut on a original '70-2 chrome diecast quarter panel end cap trim piece. I got the SMOOTH END of a 11/64" drill bit to go into the hole on the underside of the stamped nut. Not sure which size stamped nut that makes it but it's a start.
Ok. I think it is probably the same as what you have. With a caliper I measure 4mm or .1575 inch as OD for the studs. The piece has been replated and my caliper is cheap plastic for what it's worth. I can get an 11/64 drill bit into the nuts I have too.
OK - I'll try to figure out what size these things are. There are only a few sizes of SAE stamped "acorn" nuts so we should be able to narrow it down. It's probably a #8 or #10 stud ( I'll be back after some more checking. Thanks
Mike if you place a order for some and you have to buy a quantity I would ne interested in 12 to 24 . Not sure how they are sold. Tony
