    Hi..

My 65' 4 door Electra is currently Black, and black looks real good on a big boat, but only for half a second then is visible dirty.. The car will be painted this winter season..

I've been in the thinking box, but only came up with one other color. Deep brown/mocca on the body, and cream on the pillars and roof.. Would that look terrible? Maybe same colors, but a different way?

    Other suggestions?

I feel your pain. The Riviera is not going to be black again when the time comes. I'm going silver like this one:

The Riv looks good, but light colors doesn't look good on the Electra's in my oppinion..

Baby blue. Toyota ice blue. White. Cadillac 57 light blue.

Or pick one of those blues and go with the white or black top

Or 3tone blue white and black with a thin 2/4 inch line. Like this picture

Any dark deep color is going to show dirt and dust quick

I have seen an old Mercury Parklane in those colors.. Light blue body and white'ish roof, it didn't hurt the eyes..

Thanks for the succestion, and the nice drawning.. Could easy be a winner..

Silver or white shows the least amount of dirt. Brown, mocha or any dark color you'll want to avoid if dust/dirt annoys you. I think that car looks best in Black but, it also looks really nice in white. Maybe a diamond white would look great?

I agree on black looks best, but with the time left after work, house, wife and 2 Kids + all our hobbies, I would like to help myself a little in the future, and paint the car an easier, but still good looking, color..

Don't think white suits it, but thanks for the succestion.. ;)

Been thinking on the colors Ronnie brought up, and wondering if it would work on a bigger car, with "same" lines..

Car is owned by board member ;)

Cheers, Black is the original color. You could leave the sides of the car black and do the top surfaces in silver or light gray that way you don't have to paint all the door jambs. Tim

If the original color is black and theres nothing wrong with the current paint than changing it seems crazy to me. Clay bar it, keep it waxed and you should be able to just use a Cali duster or the Meguiars equivalent every night to keep it clean between washes. Besides theres nothing cooler than black and chrome

The current paint is cracking and opening up to bare metal, due to some spray filler used in the 90's.. The car gotta have all paint removed, and applied some new..

It has to be painted, just what color it's gonna be is unknown ;)

My favorit is still the brown/cream, because the white/pastel blue is more of a 50's color in my mind..

The blue/black, as Ronnie suggested, also looks good..
