My 2000 minivan's manual says I need it, but all the stores carry is ATF+3. They say "its not available yet" - but, man, its been 4 years! :af: Why don't the parts stores carry it? Only the dealers sell it! ou: - Bill
Part's stores don't carry it,because Daimler will not allow them to.It is a special patent on the formula from what I can understand. The sad part is,if it calls for +4 you have to use it.That is why so many people complain about Chryslers transmissions, people use the wrong tranny fluid and screw up the trans.Don't take any chances, pay the extra for +4.
when i changed the trans fluid in my 97 intrepid i was able to find the +4 at murrays believe it or not. its like 6-7 bucks a quart. then after i changed the fluid i went to the dealer and bought 2 bottles of trans anti-foam by renault. this helps keeps the trans fluid from foaming. it helped the shifts on my car, made them a little more precise. Jeramie oh yeah one more thing, don't use dexron/mercon. it will destroy the trans real quick. just in case
