First, check the part number of your current distributor. Is it part number 1111330? Then the specs say initial timing should be 0*(TDC) If you set the total timing to 32*, the initial might be higher than 0* depending on just how much mechanical advance is in the 1111330 distributor. Specs say 26-30*, so your initial could end up 2-6* BTDC. If you have a different distributor than the 1111330 (very possible since parts get changed in 50 years), then ALL of the above is irrelevant.
Sorry Larry, its been a while since I read that thread and thought that info about checking to see what distributor is actually in the engine was in your thread.
