Whats the proper timing

    Hey guys i have a 1968 buick skylark 350-2 im trying to set the timing can someon please tell me whats the proper timing. Thanks

    First, check the part number of your current distributor. Is it part number 1111330? Then the specs say initial timing should be 0*(TDC)

    If you set the total timing to 32*, the initial might be higher than 0* depending on just how much mechanical advance is in the 1111330 distributor. Specs say 26-30*, so your initial could end up 2-6* BTDC. If you have a different distributor than the 1111330 (very possible since parts get changed in 50 years), then ALL of the above is irrelevant.

    Sorry Larry, its been a while since I read that thread and thought that info about checking to see what distributor is actually in the engine was in your thread.
