    Hi all,

Can anyone explain this whistle in first gear (th400) in my 70 gs455? I tried to load video with audio but wont load. BTW, I used to hear the same sound in my 66 gs I had back in the 90s.

    Whistle, or whine?

could be a whine. it happens in 1st gear and increases until trans shifts to 2, then either sound goes away or is too low to be heard.

If the fluid level is correct, then the issue has to do with the front pump. If the transmission is otherwise OK, you could try a fluid change.

I had the transmission and rear serviced less than a year ago. although I do have a slight leak of tranny fluid and been meaning to go back to get fixed. but its a minimal amount of leaking. my recollection it was whistling/whining when I left the tranny shop after the service. this weekend I will try to record audio only and upload

You should have brought it back to him right away. That isn't normal.
