    Hi Ken -

Sounds like the GSX is coming along, and the weather may cooperate with us :TU:

First, you have to be a GSCA member. The initial appraisal was $65 in 1999, and updates (I heard at least every three years is prudent) are $35. They just needed an honest description of the car, and photographs of all major components. Hagerty did not question the appraisal at all.

Call me at work, we'll talk :)

Thanks to all that responded. Here's an update on what happened:

I called Grundy and talked to "Cindy". I told her I was following up on a denied application and she looked up my folder. She said it got to the underwriters and they said "no way" (her words). OK, so I'm trying not to be offended, but I am starting to get irritated. She said it would have to be painted first before they'd consider it. :Do No: So, I asked if they would cover it for the $12-$15k they said it was worth. The snotty answer was that they wouldn't insure it for any amount until it was painted/restored. So, I politely hung up, sat at my desk and muttered all sorts of nasty things about "Cindy" and Grundy. :af:

After talking to Marco, I gave Haggerty a call. They were very helpful and took all my information over the phone. The associate I talked to was very friendly and enthusiastic. I guess not everyone was suffering from PMS. Anyway, turns out Connecticut is one of like four states that won't allow issuance of a temporary insurance card while the application goes through underwriting. He told me 5-7 days underwriting lag, so I figure I'm hosed. I was referred to a locall agent who deals with Haggerty. He's about 2 miles from my home and completed my application and took my payment. Well, guess what? The local guy called me today and told me he had my insurance card! They apparently special handled my application and got me through! Yes!

Yeah, I know it's a long story, so let me summarize as follows:

    Haggerty :TU:
    Grundy :moonu:

Oh, I went with $18k and it wasn't questioned. I'll work on getting an appraisal done and adjust accordingly.

And george, what is 7liter Iso grifo? BTW, that hood tach you hooked me up with is fully functional! :TU:

Thanks again for all the help. :beer
