Well I waited to see if my original post on this topic was recovered from the great V-8 Buick crash of '04, but alas, it apparently has fallen victim to whoever that jerk was who cyber hacked into the site :af: So, at the risk of boring some of you out there, I will again pose this question: What year Wildcat is your favorite? :Do No: David

Like Phil I love all of them. To me it is a tie between the 65 and 66. In can hit myself for ever selling my 66 Cat (dont remind me Chuck) but I sure will buy me another one.

1970 model. I always did like the front end of those models.

Did that 66 ever sell? I know it was on ebay. Sure is a nice ride. I would like to have the center cap on the steering wheel in that car. I haven't seen one like that since.

I'd like to have that one beside my red one in the garage. Need those bubble things to keep the dust off!

The 66 Wildcat looked really nice but it wasn't original. It was supposed to have a base interior (from the VIN) and now has a Custom interior. Maybe some options were added too! It might even be a fake GS.
66 Wildcats with the wood wheel should have a Tri-Shield emblem on their wood wheel, I think this one had a cat emblem.

Ken do have the picture of the steering wheel? Can you post it?

Phil, are you saying the Wildcat (head) steering wheel cap was homemade by the owner and incorrect? I have the Tri-shield center cap and always thought it was for the Lesabre. Maybe I have exactly what I need. However, I am assuming the '65 would be the same as the '66.

I have seen a few Wildcats with this horn cap (even 65's that weren't available with the wood wheel), there was probably a reproduction made or many had the same idea and used the same (door panel?) emblem to fit in the steering to replace the more common Riviera crest...
The Tri-Shield was used on 66 Wildcats only as the wood weel wasn't available for the other full size Buicks.

I like the Cat head better than the Tri-Shield. I planned on pulling the Cat head from a '64 tire center cap to make the steering wheel cap. I haven't taken any measurements but it must be close.

I think Wild Bill (TopCat) may have done some "custom" steering wheels in the past. I agree-the '64 Wildcat head would be wicked cool. I'm planning something along those lines myself...get out the JB weld...cold weld it. :Brow:
