What Vacuum pumps are you using for help with good brakes and a big camshaft?

Do you know what you are pulling for vacuum now? You still need to swap the cam, correct?
You could have one ground to your liking. It's a little more than a shelf cam,but eliminates getting any of the vacuum-assist parts.

I am putting a whole new motor together with the Stage 2 heads,SPX intake and q jet so I don't know what I'd be pulling for vacuum..I may decide on a Scott Brown or maybe another Bullet cam..I am just weighing my options of what I might need to do with this motors characteristics

Even though I prefer my manuals, I have used the assist unit for the newer tahoe and suburban. These work with the vaccum of the motor, has all the sensors and all built on, shuts off at 23" mounts right on the booster at the hose, very tiny slim quite, can get from junk yard for normally under 25 bucks. Wiring was not too bad as it has more options than needed. Would use again. Last one was on a 91 ss truck with a 650 hp 502 pulling only 10" at idle

Gessler and Mark Northcutt as well as a couple others run 10's with a Q jet..Good enough for me..I absolutely hate anything that resembles and looks like a Holley

Run both. The intakes are drilled for both patterns. Get the intake with the Q-jet opening. All you need is a thin plate to square up the bore, then you can bolt on any Holley DP. I run the Q-jet on the street, and the 1000 DP at the track. Takes me 15 minutes or less to change carburetors. Have both carburetors set up to use -6AN supply hose.
