    Hey Brian
My year one steel fuel line was about 2-3" off too, but if you take your time you can bend it slightly in places where you need to and it should line up nicely. Don't put pressure on fittings cause it will leak like you said.

just tighten it to the fuel pump first. Then use both hands to just slightly add more or take away a little from each bend and you'll get it to line up with the carb.

I know what you are saying but the yearone line was alot closer than the Parts Place one i have. I dont have the yearone line anymore. This one, it takes too much effot to line it up, then the other side is pushed against the side, letting it leak

another alternative (cheaper too) is to cut the steel line you have near the carb and near the fuel pump. Then join the 2 with a rubber fuel line and some nice screw clamps. That's how my car was when I got it because it had a big cap HEI distributor and that will not fit with the steel line. (nicely anyway)

The line on my fuel filter was cut so it looked like a 'J' if you know what I mean. The one on the carb was cut straight out about 2-3 inches.

Haha actually im in South Carolina right now and i never did get the fuel line issue fixed. I come home tomorrow but then im going on a cruise for a week. But i know when i get back from that i am going to do the rubber fuel line idea. At least that way i can get it running and see the success of my toils
