For a complete 425 dual quad out of an Electra 225? It's been in storage for at least 15 years and is ALL there air cleaner to oil pan and fan to flywheel including the auto trans and posi differential. It's grimey and undoubtedly needs an overhaul but it even still has the fan belts on it.

To my knowledge they never offered this option on an Electra but some nailhead guys would know for sure. They did on a Wildcat and a Riv. I suppose anything could be special ordered or it could be a Riv transplant.

    Jim,
The option was there for the dual quad motor, and even a 4 speed in an Electra.

There is a board member who has one

As is the case with anything in this world, it all depends on how bad you want it.
What is it worth, as a core to rebuild, best guess is $500+
then prepare to spend another $4000 to $5500 to get it rebuilt correctly.

Providing it is even rebuildable, and not just a parts motor :TU:

'64 Electra with power EVERYTHING including vent windows. Shortly after they parted it out he advertised some of the parts like the AM/FM radio, switches, electric motors, etc. and someone from one of the Buick clubs contacted him about what happened to the rest of the car. That's when he found out what it was. He was told there were about 300 of them built. There's one less now. It was a good 15 years ago when they yanked the drivetrain and shipped it off to the crusher. It was missing the seats but it was a rust free Arizona car. :Dou:

Their plan was to put it in his Grandson's '60 Buick Convertible which would have been sweet. It was red with red interior and white top, a pretty decent car and would have been a cool ride but Jr. wanted a Camaro............

"IF" I can get it bought I'm dropping it in a '55 Studebaker Coupe, if I don't then I continue with my plan to put a 430 or 455 Buick in it. The past two weeks it's been raining Buicks on me! Must be a sign........

I do not know about 500.00 but I think the dual quad setups I have seen sell for around 1500.00 alone....Maybe I am wrong but I am sure the intake and carbs are worth more than the engine itself....

The intakes with carbs not rebuilt are going for around $1500, with original linkage, often times more...air cleaners are going for $600-800. I know of people who buy whole cars, just for this equipment...

The bad is the nailhead is cool looking etc. The good news is you can make a lot more power with the 430/455 series engines.

Probably $500 if it hasn't run in years.

This one had 2-4's seen in Bowling Green, KY in 1985, I'm sorry now, I didn't take a picture of the engine.
My Parents bought a '64 E in 1966 with a 425, single carb, I still have the engine, the brother put the interior in another '64 E from TX, and we junked the one my parents had, it had a rusty frame but only after, it ran 15.2's in the semi-finals at Buick Race Day 1992, at Norwalk!

Yeah, back to plan B, plan A was to rebuild the Stude 289 with an Edmunds 2 X 2 intake. It runs good now and is actually pretty tight other than the seals being shot from having sat for most of the past 35 years but I miss having "too much" torque. Well, time to see what kind of deal I can swing on the 455. See ya' back in the 400/430/455 forums. :TU:
