69 sportwagon, 464, hemi killer cam, 1000 hp holley, 10.25 : 1, ported iron heads, 12 bolt with 3:73 posi, 5 speed tremec and hydraulic clutch. 3 inch club exhaust with dynomax muffs. Most fun Ive ever had in a vehicle. Took it on a 2500 mile round trip last month. Best fuel economy was 12.5 mpg on a canadian gallon. 6 or 7 in town. gotta pay to play. 2500 miles with no stereo was a little much cause I can't sing. Pete
69 Sport Wagon 400 with original 400 (NOT!). It's actually a 430 bored over with 455 pistons, 292-02 cam, SP1 intake, headers, 2.5" exhaust w/X pipe and Dynomax welded mufflers, 200-4R and 3.42 posi. Best gas mileage was 11 mpg, before the 200-4R, now I'm not sure. Best ET was 14.0 but I'm pretty sure I can get it to run 13's one of these days.
455,with 4 speed,magnaflow exhaust on stock manifolds building a 12 bolt posi over the winter for it out of a 67 chevelle Canadian car..should work well..
My 71 before being sold had 455 with S/P TH400 and 2.93 posi at 4600lbs Best E.T. 13.17 It was a blast.....
Went a little crazy with mine , 71 455 stroked to 494 , STG 2 SE heads, KB intake, Big Demon carb , big ta cam, 4.10 spool, Doesn't like going around corners, but loves to go straight 1/4 mile at a time. Youtube - "9 sec Buick Wagon"
464 Stage 1 -> SPTH 400 -> 8.5 Grand National 3.42 -> 17's, 19's, 20's depending on the day. All wrapped up in a 1979 Century.
I'm running a 5.3l LS3 out of a 99 Silverado, 4L60e trans and a 3.42 posi in my 65 wagon. Getting 23 mpg on the interstate, 19-20 around town. - Josh
