I've used the 303 hydraulic fluid in a few different setups, Works well and will in fact tighten one up

A few years ago a good friend of mine build a nice 350 for his 69 GS. He used forged pistons, compression was 10:1, balanced the assembly, 118 cam that was degree'd to match the cam card, headers, Q-jet, 3.73 gears and the Poston Intake. The car idled well and ran well with et's in the 14.00 range. We spent 2 years tuning trying to get the car to run in the 13's. Finally he switched to a factory iron intake which netted a 3 tenths drop in et into the 13.70's and 2 mph gain in the 1/4.

I have seen a few cars at the GS Nationals with the Poston Intake that ran very well. It's all in the combination and properly matching the parts along with methodical 1 change at a time tuning.

so does everyone/anyone think swaping in the t/a stageone would be a worthwhile effort??

1st, Dump the 650 Eddy carb.
I tried a brand new one years ago from a co-worker and gave it right back to him the next day.
    Told him good luck....

im sure your right . setting still , stomp it and it dies . haven't even pulled the air cleaner off yet , but I think the carb would be the smartest thing to start with . might try the quadrajunk off my 455 and see what happens ! it will bolt up easy ? the linkage for the tv cable will complicate a simple test!!

Yes, the manifold is more so designed for a qjet. There are a couple qjet guys on this site that may sell that geometry correction bracket for your qjet/ TV cable attachment..

I pretty much gained a tenth with the SP3 as compared to the TA/DP intake with and without nitrous on the 350. I really didn't play with the tuning much just went up a jet to accommodate the taller space as this is like having a tall spacer on the TA/DP.

There was not much testing with the Poston and the 350 there was a little more on the 455 but I thought it had needed a spacer to make it work better. This is where you learn how to read plugs and work your timing, and maybe play with some stagger jetting. Lot of work though if that is what you need to do to get the Poston to work at top.
But here again there are just not that many dyno runs for it, gsjohnny said it works great for the S/C so just put one of those on, punch a hole. :D
