    Hey Buick Banshee,
I really appreciate your help. Always looking for good parts vendors... I have a Kantor catalog but didn't see the headlight switch there. I'll check the other sources and make a phone call or two.
My '56 is in pretty good shape - just needs a few minor things here and there. Mostly on the interior. I'll have to straighten some of the side mouldings and so forth as I go but all in all not a big deal. And best of all, my wife likes the car a lot!!
    Thanks Again.

    Hi KC,
There are about 7 61 Electra 225 Convertibles. Mine is the only one which is Tampico Red with a red interior. I had a 61 LeSabre 4d ht almost 20 years ago and since then I wanted a 225 Conv. I bought mine 3 years ago. / Hans

    Hello,
I own a 1956 Buick Special 4 dr sedan, shaved handles, shaved gas door- moved the filler neck behind the taillight, it's on airbags, and the rear doors are suicide. New paint job is coming in the near future.

    Mike,

You have done alot of customizing. The Suicide Doors must have been pretty complicated? What colors do You plan to paint Her?

    Hey Tom

    Tom,
This is actually my first time customizing any kind of car! Until now I have never owned anything that was worth putting the time and money into. I also own a 1983 Mustang GT 5.0 that is my everyday driver. After I am done with the Buick I plan on doing somework to the 5.0. I have to put premium into both cars, and gas is pretty expensive out here in California, just like everything else. Premium is about $2.30 a gallon out here, and those V8 motors just suck it up. The suicide doors were quite a job, reinforcing the doors, fabricating the brackets, and just getting the doors to line up perfectly was quite a task. The bottom of the car, below the stainless trim, is going to be jet black, the middle of the car is going to be bright red like Porshe red or something like that, and the top is going to be black as well. Once the black is down we are going to shoot red metal flake over it, the stock rims behind the hubcaps will have the same black with the red metal flake over it, and only about an inch of the rim will be visible between the hubcap and the white wall of the tire. Tom -continued

    Tom,
I ran out of room, sorry, so I will continue here. I posted a bunch of new pictures in the wet behind the ears section, so check em out. In the future I plan on completely redoing the interior, the seats the door panels etc.. I plan on doing the seats and door panels in a red and white two tone scheme. The headliner is still original, and is in extremely good condition, just needs to be cleaned. For the dash and the metal trim around the windows I plan on continuing the black with the red metal flake. Maybe put a carpet kit in it or something I don't know yet. I would also like to put a heat and ac unit in it, power windows etc..., there is sure alot of updated technology available today for the classic cars. I also have a line on a 450, out of a newer Buick, I'm not sure of the year, that I would like to drop in there, a new transmission to handle the bigger engine as well, lets keep our fingers crossed!!! Hopefully it all works out. Talk to you later.

    Your from California too?

    Hey Travis,
I don't know of any places that transport cars, I'm sure they are out there though, but where are you from in California? I live in Hesperia, which is between San Bernardino and Las Vegas, are you anywhere near me? I really like your car! Well, good luck with your move and all, wish I could help you.

My '55 Buick--almost done with the paint work

Hello, all. I thought I'd post a picture of my '55 Special model 43 four door hardtop. I am painting it myself, and all is going well. Nearing completion, I just can't wait! The color is a '56 Buick color, called Apricot. And black on the roof and below the side trim. ---Zach.
