I think it has to do with the device you're using. If you have a PC or laptop I believe it's no problem. If you have an iPad or iPhone I don't believe you can. Not sure about Android, Google, etc. I've never been able to post a pic to a PM but I know some guys have the icon just like posting in a regular thread.
I also have this issue. I can add photos on the forum under “upload a file” but haven’t been able to in PM’s. I tried a while back but personally I had no luck. Kyle http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/adding-pictures-in-conversations.341850/#post-2891615
If you have images hosted on another (third party) service (I host my on images on one of my domains), you can click on the "image" icon, and then copy and paste the link to the image. This also works in "Conversations" (PMs).
Maybe that's where my problem has always been. I don't have an outside service for my pics. I got so fed up with photobucket and I never got comfortable with another service.
You can upload images here, and then insert them from the "media" section. You can also use the Windows "Snip" tool, to take a screenshot (as much or little of an image) and paste it in your post. And it allows you to make some crude markups.
I was able to upload photos with both an Iphone and a android tablet not too long ago but now all i get is that dam error message? copy and paste used to work?
there it is. "upload a file button did it. but i dont get this button on the screen with an iphone or android?
Me too. I have the upload file button to reply to this thread but its not there when sending a PM to someone when using my android phone.
For pics in a PM youll need to establish a media file... its a pita. All my pics are on my desktop, and resized for most forum formats.
Add some pics to your media folder. On the bar above theres a camera. Hover over that. That is MEDIA GALLERY EMBED for PMs, honest
postimage.org has worked pretty well for me since photobucket bought in a paywall..... Click on your desired photo in your postimage gallery, click on 'Share'', click on ''Hotlink for forums'' then you paste in the code, POST your message and you get this
