That's funny I have Pontiac rods in my engine and have had it over 6K many many times!

my first 464 had stk rods, lived at 6000 every shift except when I needed some more due to a little tire dribble and then it was 6500/6500. motor had 2500 passes.

mine even though were stk took 24 cores to find 8 that were close enough in specs for his linings. they did have arp bolts, other than that just shot peened and resized. then a very particular and picky balance job.

but honestly these days for the few hundred more it cost to do enough rods to get 8, most of the time the aftermarket molnar are keeps and bounds better.

any motor I ever build that planned to spend most of it's time over 3000 will get them from now on. if doing a basic build that just might visit the 5500 plus rpm every now and then the the stk rods should be up to the task.

the issue with higher rpms is far more to do with getting proper oil flow across the bearing than it is an issue with the rods or metal used

"ZERO" rpm is the safest. ;)

In our everyday world, I would not go past 5500 rpm. JMHO.

6k rpm is no problem,...on the other side of that its starts to make "think"
