Yeah, it looks pretty wild...My problem is that I'm a purist, those wheels would have to go. Now as long as he didn't screw up anything else with the car, I'd go and look at it, wheels are an easy and cheap fix.

I think when they put wheels like that they also lower it but cutting the frame for clearance and then putting on some aftermarket spindles and air springs. I sawr it on fast and loud. I wonder how the ride is, Id love to go for a spin.

I love it, but it would never make it up my road or driveway. I had to raise the rear of my '64 Wildcat with air shocks to clear the approach on my driveway...a minor inconvenience of living in the mountains.

Arent those suspensions adjustable with a switch inside the car to the air tanks in the trunk though?

I'm not necessarily a purist but I think it looks ridiculous with those wheels on it. Probably a nice car though, or at least it used to be until they molested it like that.

The wheels arent my first choice, but I've seen far worse as well. I'd drive it.

I don't know where you got the picture from but, if it's the same car, I saw it when it was just finished about 6 years ago at a Buick club show in Tempe, AZ. It was a 22 year old kid that built it with a 2x4 425, front seats and console from a 62 Wildcat and rear seats from a 64 Riviera. The car had an airbag suspension. It looked pretty sweet to even another semi-purist like me. At least he kept it old school and didn't drop and LS motor/trans in it.

Honestly, for this kid to create something this detailed, this well engineered and customized, it really gives me hope that some members of the Millenial generation can actually keep some traditions going.

After seeing more of the car (namely the drivetrain and interior) I have to say I'm quite impressed to be honest!

Looking at the things he did to the car, I'd have to concede that it works. He put the best of all in that car, and started with a nice canvass to work with. At 22 I would have done something similar if I'd have had the cash. Looks like high quality work, I'd happily go and appraise that car. Nice ride!

I didn't want any switches in the car so I have just a compressor and switch mounted in the trunk. I have a fused relay in the engine bay that powers the compressor. I set the pressure to 50 psi and forget it. There are too many steep approaches here that require additional ground clearance, especially when you have 4 feet of trunk floor behind the rear axle. Bags on all 4 wheels would be nice but not in my budget.
